  2. From the album: RGT Classic Bungalow 1:12 scale

This one will go in the front door. A few more final touch ups needed, and it will be done.
  3. Has anyone ever inkjet printed a pattern of brick or stone on paper then used embossing powder/heat gun to texture it? ...clear embossing powder could be used over a color printout. Use a grey colored paper as the mortar or whatever color you want. Create tile too? If the printed pattern is spotty or grainy I think it would create a rough texture? ...would have to use the right kind of paper & probably hi-res image for heavier ink output? You could coat it with a mat finish?
  4. From the album: Sugarplum Dollhouse

i did a couple of Windows with the lead tape. Unfortunately I ran out of tape. Before I order another roll wanted input. do you like this look better than the copper? thanks

  6. I googled using an inkjet printer & embossing powder & apparently it can be done. The techniques use glossy papers, transparency films, photo papers, and parchment or vellum stock. I was think'n if you print a color stained glass design on transparency film - let that dry, then just print the outline, then sprinkle with black, clear or grey embossing powder, you would have perfectly raised came/leading! Instead you could paint the colors in as the embossed lines would act as a dam. ...could also be used for other textured mini items... Has anyone tried any of this?

  11. Okay, it is my fault (being married for 26 years I am used to saying that). We got off topic on another thread, so I thought I would start a new topic as a good question came out of the last topic. Do you remember "Shrinky Dinks?" Take a look at this commercial: We began talking about it and someone suggested using Shrinky Dinks for stained glass windows. It sounds like a great idea and I was wondering if anyone had tried? I was surprised to find a Shrinky Dinks website touting the "new and improved" Shrinky Dinks maker. There is a store and apparently the kits are also available through Amazon and other e-tailers. http://www.shrinkydinks.com/ Has anyone tried this? I haven't used Shrinky Dinks since I was, well, let's say MUCH younger. I would think they have some uses for minis. Your thoughts?

  17. From the album: Some of my Work

This dollhouse was designed and built by my dad and me. It was for a college Sculpture 1 class project, the students were asked to find a building and make it in miniature. I chose a Jewish synagogue. It has stained glass, and I cut out the star and used woodsies wood sticks to create a design around it. During this project, I found the Greenleaf website and a few other miniatures sites and videos and became addicted to looking at and making miniatures
