    Marble Hearths

From the album: First Dollhouse DC San Franciscan SF557

I made a couple of marble hearths out of polymer clay for the San Franciscan. One is thick and one is thinner. I'm leaning towards the thinner one, as I like the swirls. I may use the other one in another room or I may make another. This was Miranda's (SewMini) idea, that I have shamelessly stolen. Gotta watch out for us Aussies.. we have convict blood. Thanks Miranda! I watched a tutorial but there was too much mixing and I ended up with hardly any veins. Operator error no doubt. So essentially I just loosely mixed pearl, silver & translucent clay. Marble Hearth

From the album: First Dollhouse DC San Franciscan SF557

"Marble" Hearth with fireplace & mantle. I watched a tutorial but there was too much mixing and I ended up with hardly any veins. Operator error no doubt. So essentially I just loosely mixed pearl, silver & translucent clay. Then separately I loosely mixed white with a small amout of black. Then I rolled everything in a ball and then made snake ropes, by rolling it out into a long snake, folding and then twisting it like a corkscrew. then back into a ball, roll out and cut to size. Much simpler!
  3. From the album: Amylynn's Polymer Clay Food

Baguettes and Carrots made in 1:24 scale.
  4. My baguettes are up for sale here on my website. I created a section for miniatures. These three are ready to go and in 1:12 scale. I'm including the wooden 2" disc that they are placed upon. If you are a first time visitor to my website, you will need to register for an account to order. I'll ship these next business day, and there is only one set available.
  5. From the album: Amylynn's Polymer Clay Food

Carrots in polymer clay 1:12 scale.
  6. From the album: Amylynn's Polymer Clay Food

1:12 scale with quarter to size.
  7. I made some chocolate chip cookie dough for my Chrysnbon stove. This is 1:12 scale. Now I want a glass of milk and some real cookies!
  8. From the album: Amylynn's Polymer Clay Food

This is the second try at baguettes. These are more to scale, more artisan looking, less shiny. I used a matte sealer on these versus the gloss on the other ones I made. I also "opened" these a bit more to show more detail on the bread dough inside of the cuts. Overall I'm happy with them.
  9. From the album: Amylynn's Polymer Clay Food

A trio of baguettes made from polymer clay, scaled 1:12.
  10. From the album: Amylynn's Polymer Clay Food

Chocolate chip cookie dough in polymer 1:12 scale.
  11. I've placed my set of four hot cross buns on Ebay, I figure if they sell then I can buy more clay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161182299330?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  12. I love polymer clay and tried my hand at making a mini baguette and some potatoes today. I'm pleased with them, it's so much fun making food into miniature. I'm not sure these are 1:12 scale, I kind of just winged it, but they're close I think.
  13. These are a set of hot cross buns with raisins I made last night. Boy talk about eye strain with those raisin pieces I thought these would be 1:12 but they're really 1:6. Hey it's all good.
  14. From the album: Amylynn's Polymer Clay Food

These are some hot cross buns with raisins I made. The glaze is liquid sculpey mixed with white clay.
  15. From the album: Amylynn's Polymer Clay Food

    Made of polymer clay.
  16. From the album: Amylynn's Polymer Clay Food

A baguette made of polymer clay.
  17. From the album: Scenes & Other Minis

Mosaic pieces are an assortment of polymer clay and the, "grout", is a light/soft polymer clay. Some of the color was done with water color pencils, and the tops of these have been glazed over with translucent liquid polymer clay for a more finished look.
