  2. Greetings, I just wanted to let everyone know that CIMTA this year has wholesale & retail. By offering retail we were able to attract a lot more exhibitors that didn't want to wholesale. Please join us! The rooms are super affordable and if you sign up for our mailing list you get 75% off your tickets. That makes entrance only $3.75 for two days when you pre-purchase online. The rooms are super affordable, and the mailing list for discount tickets is here: CIMTA Retail Information Thanks, Jeremy Gonzales CIMTA HQ
  3. I was wondering if anyone is planning to attend the Good Sam Showcase of Miniatures this October? I think I have my husband convinced to go for a weekend getaway. http://goodsamshowcase.miniature.net/
  4. Have you ever been to a "Three Blind Mice Show" ? How does it compare to other shows? The Nashville one falls near my birthday and I just happen to have family there. Would it be worth the airfare etc.... or is there a better show that is worth the traveling expenses. Thanks for any input.
  5. Will anyone on this forum have a box or house on display at the Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte, NC? I am not sure of the dates this year, but my favorite part of my annual trip is looking through the exhibit with the room boxes and dollhouses.
  6. Hello All, This Sunday, Nov. 22, is Karen Aird's Miniature show in Warren NJ. It's a great chance to pick up a few new things for that miniature project. It's her sixth show, so she is giving away 6 $60 vouchers to use at the show! There will also be a drawing to win a dollhouse! For more info visit her website: http://karensdollhouse.com/shop/ I hope to see some of you there!
  7. Good Morning All! Just a quick reminder that the Online Miniature Show starts tomorrow, August 20th and runs through Sunday, August 23rd. It's a great chance to see some minis from around the world. Maybe not quite the same experience as going to a show location, but there are a lot of fantastic miniaturists out there. Many of us might not be able to see some of the miniaturists based in Spain, or France, or England, but this is the perfect chance to check out their wares! If you have any questions, let me know. I will do my best to find an answer for you! This link will take you to the show page: http://aminiminiatureshow.weebly.com/
  8. The Texas Miniature Showcase http://www.texasminiatureshowcase.comis next weekend. I'm very excited to attend my first miniature show! I hope to meet GL Forum members, gain inspiration & ideas and of course SHOP! It will be so cool to be around others who share my addiction, err I mean passion, for miniatures. Please let me know if you'll be there Saturday morning.
  9. Good Morning! For those of you who don't already know about it, there will be an online miniature show starting Thursday March 19th and ending Sunday March 22nd. It isn't anything super fancy, but it does give you the chance to browse or purchase items from a variety of artisans, some of which don't normally sell online. Items will be available in multiple scales. I will be selling my garden and plant items. If you have any questions about the online show I will do my best to find an answer for you. Here is the link to the site: http://aminiminiatureshow.weebly.com/
  10. So...I'm thinking about making the trip out to the Chicago International Show this year and was wondering if anyone who has been to the show or knows the area could make some hotel suggestions. Not looking for anything fancy, just clean and in a decent area. I will be taking the train in so near the show would be helpful, but I think I can navigate public transport. Thanks in advance!
  11. From the album: Country House - Renovated

These are the purchases I made at Karen Aird's Fall 2013 Miniature Show in Warren, NJ. This show is much smaller than the recent one I attended in Cherry Hill, but it is still very nice, and I ended up purchasing a lot more here than at the larger show. I may need a part time job to support my habit - I mean hobby. The large platter in the front, the tiny cat cookie, and the stocking hanging for the table were extras thrown in by various vendors.
  12. From the album: Country House - Renovated

These were the purchases I made at the Philadelphia Miniaturia in Cherry Hll on November 2. For a really big show, it doesn't look like I purchased much, but I was very happy with what I bought.
  13. From the album: Country House - Renovated

This was my People's Choice vote at the Philadelphia Miniaturia in Cherry Hill, NJ on November 2. I wish I remembered the artist's name, and I wish I knew which entry won. I believe the display is in 1/4 inch scale, which surprisingly, seemed to be a popular size at that show.
  14. From the album: Country House - Renovated

This is the interior of what I believe is a 1/4 scale cottage display I voted for as my People's Choice submission at the Philadelphia Miniaturia in Cherry Hill, NJ on November 2.
  15. From the album: Country House - Renovated

A close up of the room box my friend Maureen voted for as her People's Choice submission at the Philadelphia Miniaturia in Cherry Hill, NJ on November 2.
  16. From the album: Country House - Renovated

At the Philadelphia Miniaturia there was a room of displays where you could submit your People's Choice Award. My friend Maureen voted for this attic display.
  17. Is anyone going to the Philadelphia Miniaturia show this year? From what I heard, this miniature show used to be in Philadelphia, but now it is in nearby Cherry Hill at the Crowne Plaza. It is the largest miniature show on the East Coast and the second largest in the nation (Chicago being the first). This will be the first year I am going, and I am very excited about it. The dates and times are: Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, November 3 from 11 AM to 4 PM. The price is $10, and for children under 10, it is $3. You can also buy a $25 preview ticket for admission on Friday evening from 6 PM - 9 PM. If you buy a preview ticket for Friday, it will be good for all three days. I plan to be there on the Saturday. I heard that last year Super Storm Sandy put a damper on the show, and at the time my house was still without electricity. Let's hope for a better state of affairs this year.
  18. I'm looking for tips on selling at miniature shows. Gonzo has given me some great ones, but I've only been to a few shows and was so engrossed in looking at the merchandise that I never really paid attention to what goes into selling at one. Details such as how much change to have on hand, what are the best kind of price tags to use, what kind of table covering to use-plastic, paper, fabric? How to display accessories all on a tiny budget. I welcome any ideas anyone may have!
  19. Good Morning all, I've been thinking lately of participating in one of my areas local miniature shows in the fall. I know there are a few of you out there who have or are going to be participating in other shows. I was just wondering if you all had advice about any aspect of being a vendor, and what I should expect.I've done a couple of craft shows so I'm not completely new to the game, although I have a feeling that a miniature show is a whole different monster, lol. I haven't sent in paperwork yet, so it's still up in the air. I just wanted to know a little more about it if anyone is willing to share their experiences. Thanks in advance!! And now that I think about it, comments and suggestions from anyone who has been to shows would be helpful. Such as what setups were nice, not so nice, signage, anything you've seen a vendor do that was helpful, etc.
  20. Hey PA Folks! I will be doing the Lehigh Valley Show in less than a month so excited anyone been to this show? Anyone else going?
  21. Just curious if anyone will be attending the Three Blind Mice show in Ann Arbor on Saturday May 12th? http://3blindmiceshow.com/annarbor/
