  1. So I need assistance picking a trim for my linen shades. Mock up below. I'm going for a rustic modern look... I like the white trim but think it might be too white for the dark metal and a bit refined for the look I want. The one on the left, I like the colour and texture but it's maybe too bulky? The third one is hemp rope and I think maybe too much contrast? Or not.. Originally I did this.. Which I like the best.. but no light shows through when you turn it on..
  2. From the album: Vermont Farmhouse, Jr.

This is my favorite picture of the house so far, as it looks like it is twilight time in early spring. The tulips look so real, and the blue reflecting from Maureen's real life window looks like the ocean waves showing through her house.

    Jhumka Set 2

    From the album: Various Miniatures

The two on the left are part of the same earring. The big one left pins into the ear, and the one dangling from the chain gets draped over the back of the ear to hang fetchingly on the neckline. This one was more pricey, but has real crystals dangling from the jhumkas. The next one has pink crystals inside the cage and pink crystals dangling from below. Will make a pretty chandelier for a ladies parlour or bedroom. The one on the right is slightly different from the jhumkas in Set 1, but it was good to stock up! Next time I go, hopefully they will have some gold ones in stock.

    Jhumka Set 1

    From the album: Various Miniatures

Modeled by my daughter Shannon, these earrings are all quite large. The one in the middle is one and a half inches across. They are perfect round domes - so will look good from any angle. Since I am not electrifying my houses, these are perfect little chandeliers. Cost is about $12 per set for earrings = 2 jhumkas, makes 2 light fittings - good value for money!

  5. From the album: Country House - Renovated

Ernest Hemingway or a weary traveler (or trick-or-treater) may find Grandma's dining room a welcoming place on a dark, October night. After a weekend consisting of a Halloween party, town parade, and costume contest, the family prepares to settle down for a warm and cozy evening.

    Late Night Talk

From the album: Country House - Renovated

Grandma and Amy are enjoying a late-night girls' talk after their party-going visitors left. Good thing their new ceiling light allows them to see in the dark. It looks like their company brought some wine for Grandma and Grandpa.
  7. For my Garfield, I don't want to electrify it but I do still want to put little lights in each room. Other than the glue option, could I use jewelry flat-pin wires? If I drilled a tiny hole in the ceiling/floor panel, then inserted the pin from the top - then bend the bottom into a little hook shape - would it be strong enough to hold a light fitting? I'm thinking that I could then do the floor covering for the upper floor and conceal the pin head. Does anyone have a better suggestion? Obviously this is an important step, especially with the bottom front corner room that will become inaccessible once the wall is up. Gosh, so many things to consider for each step of construction - I hope I'm not missing out on anything practical!
