  1. So... this is my first dollhouse and the one I am currently working on. I joined this group once the house was already built, so no process pictures. But I took some today of where it stands now. I've made a bunch of mods. So if you have any questions, feel free to ask. And yes, I did clip the corners on every one of those shingles.
  2. From the album: Beacon Hill Haunted Mansion

A close-up of the chimney on my haunted mansion. Did finish with air dry clay (distressed white color with Ranger distress liquid spray in Walnut). Stone made using cardboard packaging material torn into pieces. Glued with "Quick Grab" glue (I used this glue on everything except my wallpaper, for which I used "Yes" paste and another similar paste, I forget the name of but I think "Grandma" is in the name) onto the clay. Didn't wait for clay to dry first. The next day, I dry-brushed over with acrylic paints (grays, browns, white). After that I painted over with mod podge to seal and harde
  3. From the album: Beacon Hill Haunted Mansion

I finished the exterior! I put bricks around the porch foundation but I ran out. Not sure if I will do the rest of the foundation with more bricks or just leave it. I'm kind of anxious to do more on the interior at this point. LOL!
  4. From the album: Beacon Hill Haunted Mansion

Close-up of porch with a doll I purchased on Etsy from a lady in the UK. She named her Doris Dittany. She is just adorable, I think anyway.
  5. From the album: Beacon Hill Haunted Mansion

Left side and front exterior view of exterior as of October 31, 2017

  7. From the album: Beacon Hill Haunted Mansion

I to make a stucco type wall with air dry clay. I also stained some match stix wood pieces for the look of the old-fashioned lath and plaster walls. I may still do the rest of this room with the same technique, although you may notice the other walls have a different finish (wallpaper and stained stucco to muddy it up.
  8. From the album: Beacon Hill Haunted Mansion

A look at the three interior floors. Used the same cardboard technique described in the chimney photo on the foyer floor.
  9. Thursday 5/21/15 I've completed the main gable over the front of the Orchid. I had a bit of an issue figuring out the alignment of the gable because I tend to invert things and of course I don't follow direction very well but I did get it to work out. I'm thinking of papering one attic room with newspapers, I found a free printie site with 1:12 scale newspapers and now I just need to find paper that will work as newsprint and print them out. I'm thinking of aging the paper with a weak tea solution. I'm not progressing fast, but I'm not in a huge hurry either. Just letting the house
  10. From the album: Trying new things

  11. Friday January 3rd 2014 Today I worked on the Chrysnbon stove I purchased off of Ebay. I loved this stove the minute I saw it and figured it would be an easy build since I have had model building experience putting together models since I was about 8. So while I had the spare time, I gathered the stove kit, my exacto blade kit, my Tamiya cement (I can't say enough great things about this cement, I love it) and a mug of coffee. Three hours later, most of it is done. I'm a perfectionist and I won't hurry any model building I do. The stove is drying, the feet need to go on and I
  12. December 30th 2013. For Christmas I received an Orchid Dollhouse. To say I'm really excited is an understatement. This is something I've wanted forever. When it came to me, finally after what seemed like a forever wait, I spent a long time just looking at the box and thinking of the possibilities. The first thing that came to mind is "I want to create a haunted house." Not with Casper type ghosts but one with a history. So haunted it shall be. What to name it, I'm not sure yet. But I have an idea. So I placed the house under the Christmas tree to wait for a time I would have
  13. From the album: A haunted Glencroft

Started on a potion cabinet. Needs some more work. It looks too clean.
  14. From the album: A haunted Glencroft

Re-purposed a mirror from a make-up compact, sanded off the coating in the center and attached an image I found on google.
  15. From the album: A haunted Glencroft

I found a site with a ton of spooky printables and tried out one of the coffins. Prints nice, easy to put together and looks pretty good. I prefer wood and will probably make one later on.
  16. From the album: A haunted Glencroft

The house was in bad shape. Old, dilapidated, and ripe for a haunting.
