  1. Hope I am obeying the rules. I am "New" here, but my eBay record is visible, and I can point to when I bought and sold high end cinema cameras and gear. I am happy to provide additional photos or details if requested. (1) Arrow Kit 750 Royal Dream Kit in original box, Appears complete, I counted the main wood sheets. I am not sure if any shingles or other loose pieces. Box is old masking tape nightmare, but it is there. (2) Kit: Dura Craft Heritage HR 560 Kit in original box. Perhaps 25% of kit is missing. My wife and I did an inventory of the pieces. I have some of the instruction manual pages we made notes on, but need to look for a couple pages. (3) BUILT: Greenleaf Fairfield 8015 Fully assembled, painted, flooring. But needs a bit of care. Some shingles are missing, Some panels sem loose. Flooring, other decorator items showing their age.
  2. From the album: Rehab of Mom’s VH600

Exterior painting done & railings have been repaired. Waiting to glue a few railing sections until all doors & windows have been put back.
  3. Hello miniature community, I have searched this site to see if I could find any discussions or information about whether DuraCraft is still in business or not. My dollhouse kit (Farmhouse) has an order form for new parts if they are ruined or missing. It says it's in Newberg, OR. but the number is disconnected and I'm guessing they don't exist any longer? I can't find a website that belongs to them either. Why is the dollhouse world so underground? Hahaha. Anyway, my kit is missing ALL of the window panes and mirrors. I'm sure I can make them myself with the right materials, but another frustrating aspect of this project, is that not one piece has the measurements listed in the manual. So if there is a source for these parts by a company that bought them out...or? Thanks for you help! Katie
  4. From the album: Rehab of Mom’s VH600

This window had us stumped for a bit. My Mom had a plastic “stained glass” piece in it & my Dad modified the window opening & built the window to fit. I found some mullions & made the insert to fit. We like it much better!
  5. Hello all, i'm new here, Where do I post a listing for selling a dollhouse? Its a Dura-Craft VM-800 Victorian Mansion.
  6. From the album: Rehab of Mom’s VH600

Starting rehab...forgot to take a good “before” pic of front..this is the best we have!
  7. Hello everyone! I’ve enjoyed reading the posts here and have been meaning to say hello! My daughter & I are renovating a Dura Craft VH600 that my mother built over 35 years ago. I remember when she opened the huge box full of thousands of pieces of wood! She said looking at all those pieces was so overwhelming that she almost changed her mind & wanted to take it back to the store! My Dad made her a work table and she plugged away at it for years. She wired it, wallpapered it and laid wood flooring in the largest room. She painted it yellow & it was a permanent fixture in our home. Of course, my 3 brothers & I were rarely allowed to play with it after all the hard work she had put into it. My Dad had quickly restored my Mom’s childhood dollhouse for me to play with, but it paled in comparison to what she was building! When our family moved, my Mom’s best friend offered to keep the house for a while. Eventually, I got married & moved away and so did my 3 brothers. Now that there was extra room, the house was returned to my Mom. Enter Grandchildren....those delicate railings on the dollhouse didn’t stand a chance! My daughter is 13 now and has always loved all things miniature. My Mom has wanted to give her the dollhouse for years, but we just didn’t have room. Now we do, so in October it was delivered by my parents, along with several boxes of miscellaneous building pieces, old copper wiring tape and tons of furniture & miniatures! At first I wasn’t sure about this project, but I have totally fallen in love! And it is a bonding time with my daughter that doesn’t involve a screen in front of her face! ;) We have removed the old yellowed wallpaper, the old wiring, and the curling wood flooring. Currently, we are painting the exterior. I will post pics when I’m allowed. My Mom, daughter & I plan to attend the Seattle Minature show in March... 3 generations of miniaturists!
  8. Hello. We found a Dura Craft Bayberry Cottage (BY 197) dollhouse at a yard sale and was told it was complete. The box had been open but it looked full. Instead of doing the smart thing, and verifying the contents, we tore into the project and began assembly. We made it to page 4 and realized there are missing pieces. After a more careful examination, we realized there are more pieces missing then just two. From my search, it appears Dura Craft is no longer in business so finding replacement parts will be challenging. If anyone has this dollhouse and needs replacement pieces, we would love to help with your needs. We would rather help someone complete their projects than just throw this in the trash. If you are interested in this project, just contact us and we can work out shipping. We hope this will help someone complete their dollhouse.

From the album: Marquam Hill Mansion WyckedWood

Just have this partially glued, partially dry fit. Makes it easier to envision things. I'm going to stop here and do the floors and ceilings while I can get to them. I'd like to add a false stairwell or door to suggest one, since I'm omitting the stairs.

  12. Inherited this amazing house but don't yet have the skills to do it justice, this house is going to be huge and gorgeous. About 4 peices assembled so far. Email for pics or inquiries. I cannot attach the photos I have because they exceed the max limit on size. Thanks!
  13. First off I'm not sure if this post belongs here or in the trading section so Admin folks please feel free to move it if you get the notion. I have recently acquired the build of my dreams, Dura Craft VM-800. Unfortunately it arrived with some siding pieces missing. This is the older kit with the tongue and groove type siding. I'm going to start the build soon and I have a few ideas for making up for the missing pieces but if anyone has any extra siding pieces from a bash or a partial kit that you would be willing to part with I would be willing to buy them from you. Please PM me if you have anything. Thank you
  14. When I started into doll houses several years ago I made the statement that I was only going to do one house but it was to take me years to complete. I was told that won't happen, they seem to multiply. Well my VH-600 has taken me years but my stash has somehow grown also. Today I added my 5th kit to the collection. When I started I really wanted the Dura Craft VM-800 but I lost every auction. Way too much money. I settled for her sister the VH-600 which I love too. I have been working on her for several years but today I found the 800 on EBay with a make offer so I did make an offer and it was accepted. Doing the happy dance! The seller told me the history of the house. It belonged to his Mother who bought but never opened it. It's been in the attic for many years until his parents had to move in with him and then Mother passed away earlier this year so they are selling her items to provide for the Father. Kinda cool knowing a little of it's history before it came to live with me.
  15. I just don't have the time or the room right now. Both houses are up for sale. http://www.ebay.com/itm/291196572430?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/291196573434?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 I am in zip code 60404 or south suburbs of the city of Chicago. I know picking them up is a pain but there is no way that I can ship these unless I use (uship) or another ground carrier. If you are really interested please let me know because I would LOVE for them to go to a home that is going to rehab them and care for them as they should be done. I could possibly meet up I have a large enough vehicle to transport them but gas is expensive so I don't wanna drive all over the place. I have mulled this over for a year now and I just don't have the space for them otherwise I would redo them for myself!
  16. Cheverly

From the album: Whitebrush Manor - DC VM800

It has been a while since I've posted a photo, but here's where I am so far. You can't see them in the picture, but I've added hooks to the porch roof support so I can put up hanging baskets later. I'm having sooo much fun!!
  17. I have a brand new in box Sweet Heart Dollhouse Kit that is 1:12 Scale. The box is a little beat up but everything is inside. I have made two fairy houses from this kit before. It is made by Dura Craft and is SW125. It has 4 rooms and 1 stairway and measures 16 High 17 Wide and 11 Diameter when completed. I makes for a nice small 1:12 scale for kids to play with. I am scaling down to 1:24 and 1:48. I just do not have time or room for this kit and it has sat on the shelf lonely for some time. I am looking to trade for items that go inside my Fairfield (1:24). I will pack well but will ship the kit bulk cheap rate or priority if you prefer. If you are intersted please let me know. dollhouse.bmp
