Hi everyone. Planning a project to begin early December as I will be participating in National Writing Month in November but am planning on going to a miniatures fair at the end. I am planning on picking up things for the project while I am there. I am planning a story about the bookstore and it is set in a quaint English village. The idea i am working with right now is that it either started off a part of a french chateau that had burned down and the lord of the area had found it and brought bricks and doorways back. I just don't know if it would look wrong in an english village. My

Incomplete Dura Craft Bayberry Cottage BY 197
B&L Dollhouse posted a topic in Community Trading Post
Hello. We found a Dura Craft Bayberry Cottage (BY 197) dollhouse at a yard sale and was told it was complete. The box had been open but it looked full. Instead of doing the smart thing, and verifying the contents, we tore into the project and began assembly. We made it to page 4 and realized there are missing pieces. After a more careful examination, we realized there are more pieces missing then just two. From my search, it appears Dura Craft is no longer in business so finding replacement parts will be challenging. If anyone has this dollhouse and needs replacement pieces, we would lov- 3 replies

I have taken apart and reglued this half scale arthur 3 times..I finaly decided to just cut a piece of wall and just start adding the pieces around whereever I thought they should go... without looking at the directions.. I think I am going to keep it this way for a while...collecting dust maybe....cause I don't have enough half built things..around...© Minifanticus

I'd been taking a break from Dollhouse's for a while (partially due to time constraints and lack of inspiration) but when the idea struck me to make a tiny See's shop I just couldn't resist! For those of you who haven't been to See's shop (almost all are in CA) they sell really delicious chocolates and the shops are vintage looking and are all black and white (the shops and uniforms are almost exactly the same as they were when See's opened in 1921) I'm using the Storybook cottage kit, and I got a nice sheet of black and white tiles for the flooring (it's the first time I'm actuall

Sometimes you have to just get in there with a hammer and some paper and foam and ideas and house plans and dreams and smash it all together!!!! I am still playing with shapes...I just thought I would throw this on the pile..cause I need to start another unfinished project like I need a hole in my head...© minifanaticus

Step one: I'm putting this bash together in the typical configuration, so the foundation goes together just like you would if you were building the kit from start to finish. Of course, you can reverse the layout, building the house "inside out" or you can remove the wrap around porch like I did in the 1:24 Tennyson Bash that looks like a row house. Nice and simple, no?© DAL Minis

This was my People's Choice vote at the Philadelphia Miniaturia in Cherry Hill, NJ on November 2. I wish I remembered the artist's name, and I wish I knew which entry won. I believe the display is in 1/4 inch scale, which surprisingly, seemed to be a popular size at that show. -

This is the interior of what I believe is a 1/4 scale cottage display I voted for as my People's Choice submission at the Philadelphia Miniaturia in Cherry Hill, NJ on November 2. -

I took Holly with me to the Philadelphia Miniaturia for size. This was her favorite display too. I think she would like a dollhouse for Christmas. -

This was another craigslist find. It came as part of a package deal when I bought a Newport. I got the Newport in the box for $50 and when he said he had a partially assembled kit for $5, I didn't even ask what it was. It turns out it was a Coventry Cottage and by partially assembled he meant "dry fit." I think I will do a quick assembly and paint this summer and donate this.© 2013 All About Miniatures, LLC

In the pictures this chandy looks like its over the seating area, but it isnt, its directly over the stairwell, thats why it hangs a little on the low side, its kind of lighting up that dark area. Its so pretty:-)-

Quarter Scale Cottage Furniture -- Arkoma, OK August, 2012

This was a special find. In this gallery I mention a Farmhouse kit that I bought in Oklahoma. I found this bag of furniture in the tote with the FH pieces a few weeks after I got home. It is from Debbie Young at "Young at Heart." I couldn't find this set when I searched her site, so I sent a quick email. This was a special kit that was part of the 2005 national convention. There were only 300 made. She didn't specify, but I think it was part of a workshop. At the time it was valued at about $85. Not a bad find as part of a $40 DC Farmhouse kit! I dug deeper to see if the cottage was in th -

The front part of the garden room created from an old cottage. The wisteria is handmade using a combination of leaves from HBS and Bonnie Lavish. The flowers were made from floral tape wrapped around floral wire in a cone shape and dipped in flowersoft. Some of the flowers had a final half coating of purple microbeads.© Jo Medvenics 2012

This is why I called it The Lanterns. The lanterns are made out of large translucent pink beads and some old bronze coloured jewellery findings. They were very easy to make once I had a design in my head. The tiles in the porch are by a seller called Toolshed22 on Ebay. They are beautiful and very intricate.© Jo Medvenics 2012

I threw a bamboo coaster in for kicks to see how it would look with an area rug. The floors were actually stained. It was the first time I had used that particular stain and I don't really like how it came out. Bamboo floor in the front room was fun trying to fit into the bay area. I like how the roof turned out. I will take some good pics with a camera (rather than my phone) after I get the finishing touches done in a day or so. I realize the shingles are off a little on this side.I had a little "helper" from the neighborhood. It is a long story, but it made her day. She was actually par© © 2012 Possum Trot Miniatures
