  2. Hi I live in upstate NY, Albany area and I’m looking to hire someone to finish building my daughters dollhouse, The Beacon Hill. It was started about 8years ago, but the gentleman that was working on it passed away. I estimate that it is about two thirds to almost three quarters of the way complete, it’s mostly the windows and trim, finish work that needs to be done, painting, wiring some wall paper and flooring, etc. Does anyone know of anyone that I could hire to complete it? I’m willing to take it to towns within a 1-2 hr Drive of Albany to get it completed. Please contact me via email at thanks.
  3. Hi! Has anyone ever attempted to build the bay windows and THEN install them on the house? Did it work, what were the difficulties and adantages of doing it this way - if at all possible?
  4. I couldn't figure out what to do with the door (I didn't like the plan wood door included with the Sugarplum) so I decided to make a unique door with polymer clay. But now I'm having the problem of molding. I want to do molding around door but not quite sure how to achieve the rounded top. Amy suggestions? Also, what do you use for Windows? thanks in advance. BTW, the polymer clay worked like a peach for anyone who is having a similar problem. Great way to create your very own piece (for whatever)
  5. From the album: Sugarplum Dollhouse

finishing touches of kitchentte. Using jewelry finding for light pendants and wine bottle holders on each side wall. im not thrilled with trim around window so think I'll find a different wood and matter ends. Legs on bar look cracked because nothing is secured down
  6. @MikeUK finally remembered what I wanted to ask you. I'm sure there are others here who could answer this too. if you were going to replicate this chair stool, how would you do it? I want this style for my kitchen. I'm waiting for a solder tool I order but that won't be here for awhile
  7. From the album: Sugarplum Dollhouse

After researching a ton on the Internet, I decided to experiment with foam bored to create a brick facade. It relatively easy and inexpensive. I painted the chimney in a base color with acrylic paint

  9. I just started to build My Fairfield. I read all the posts and researched everything.......still I have made some mistakes, hopefully learning on the way. Pictures are in the gallery so far....... Gail
  10. I've totally become addicted to power tools, primarily Proxxon tools. What are your tools of the mini trade?
  11. I went to a yard sale last Friday because they had advertised having a "few" minis. I got there to find the building below, all of the contents for it and another table COVERED in mini furniture pieces. Most of them were 1/2 scale and from the 1970's. Some of them are IDEAL brand. I will post pics after I clean them up. The pictures below are of the completed kit that the lady had built as a Millinery/Fabric Shop. It was built in the 1970's or 1980's and I am just curious if anyone knows the make and model. It is front opening and has a framed glass top. I will spend some time cleaning it up and restocking it. I might even change the type of store. Thanks!
