From the album: Spring Fling 2012The fountain gave me such a headache - 4 attempts and I am still not happy with my water creating skills (snort). This was made from a birdbath, a cakestand and the inside of a roll of masking tape. I used Solid Water for the basin and Making Waves for the drips. I used a combination of pale blue thread, wire, and cling flim and it still looks like its frozen in time. Must get some more practice with this stuff. Pouring still water is the easy part but making it look as if its moving requires skills I don't have yet. I made the boston ferns from floral wire and tape. They take a long time to hand cut but I like the finished effect. Palms are easier as the leaves are much bigger. The rest of the plants are from bits and bobs in the supply box.

From the album: More minis I've madeI have long thought about making some potted plants but never really got round to it. I've made plants using bits of bought flowers before, just sticking them in plant pots but never made any from scratch. So I read just about every tutorial I could lay my hands on to learn the basics and then googled pictures of the plants I wanted to make. In this pic are 2 different types of palms. a couple of boston ferns and a pot of flowering grasses. The grass is simply a cut down flower stem from Hobbycraft but the rest are made from scratch. They take a long time to do but I think are totally worth the effort.
