Real Name

  1. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

My parents built the house and painted it with paint they had on hand. Purple is my niece's favorite color so they chose that for the windows and door.

    Exterior progress

    From the album: Rose Marie

Update on the progress of the exterior. I just bought the 4th bag of 350 shingles to finish the roof soon, hopefully. Just a little more shingling left to do. I painted the porch area in front of the house dark gray to get ready for the flagstone treatment.
  9. lisajo

    Inside progress

    From the album: Rose Marie

Current progress inside the house with the third floor painted and wallpapered. Can't decide if the 2 short knee wall trim pieces (on each side against the back wall in the third floor) should be painted Cottage Rose to match the room or off-white to match the trim. What do you think?
  10. lisajo

    Shingle progress

    From the album: Rose Marie

The progress we've made on the shingles so far. Not quite half way.
  11. From the album: Rose Marie

Finished installing the staircases this morning. I had a really hard time deciding whether to paint or stain the staircase. I decided to paint the stairs off white to match the rest of the house trim and added teal accents to the railing.
  12. lisajo

    The Kitchen

    From the album: Rose Marie

Red gingham wallpaper and a black and white checkerboard floor in the kitchen.

  16. lisajo

    Upstairs Bedroom

    From the album: Rose Marie

The wallpaper is not nearly as dark as it looks in the pictures. Still have to install the stairs and railings.
  17. lisajo

    The dining area

    From the album: Rose Marie

The kitchen is big with a bay window dining area.
  18. lisajo

    Building Progress

    From the album: Rose Marie

The shell is built. Still have to build the roof. The outside is painted Weathered Glass from the Lowe's Eddie Bauer Home collection.
  19. From the album: Rose Marie

The dry fit really helped me to see how everything all fit together. So glad I didn't miss this step.
  20. lisajo

    Dry Fit

    From the album: Rose Marie

Primed all the pieces except the 3 floors. Stained the top side of the floors and primed the bottom side (ceilings). I should have stained the roof too, instead of priming. Rookie mistake.
  21. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

My mom got this bathroom furniture at a thrift store and she made the rug and towels. The trash can is made from the top of a whipped cream can. The "tile" walls are scrapbook paper.
  22. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

My parents made the window shades from a bamboo placemat.
  23. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

Most of the furniture is built from kits, or stuff I had in my stash.
