  1. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

My parents built the house and painted it with paint they had on hand. Purple is my niece's favorite color so they chose that for the windows and door.
  2. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

My mom got this bathroom furniture at a thrift store and she made the rug and towels. The trash can is made from the top of a whipped cream can. The "tile" walls are scrapbook paper.
  3. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

My parents made the window shades from a bamboo placemat.
  4. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

Most of the furniture is built from kits, or stuff I had in my stash.
  5. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

I made printies out of some of my niece's favorite books, and sent them to my mom to glue to the fronts of the books.
  6. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

My mom painted and distressed this Michaels hutch.
  7. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

There's also a magnet over the piano.
  8. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

The magnet on the wall can also be used to hang this picture. I thought that was a smart idea way to give her some options!
  9. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

They put a magnet on the wall that looks like a shiny mirror. It can be used to mount the TV here.
  10. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

Here's a close-up of the Dollar Store TV magnet. My niece loves the part in The Little Mermaid where Ursula steals Arial's voice, so I found a picture of it online and printed it out.
  11. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

Since none of the cabinet doors open, my mom stored the pots and pans inside the stove. We found these at a thrift store. The potholder hanging on the front of the stove came off a Hallmark ornament.
  12. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

The sink was painted with the same silver spray paint as the fridge, and we added a faucet that I've had lying around in my stash for years.
  13. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

The fridge is made using the kit fridge, but we rearranged the doors (to match the style of my parents' real fridge) and my dad made the door handles out of wire. He printed the water dispenser off the internet. The silver spray paint we used matches the finish of the stove pretty well.
  14. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

I bought these stools off eBay and my mom painted them. The countertops are painted to look like granite.
  15. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

We turned the standalone cabinet into an island with seating at the back.
  16. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

I had the stove in my stash. We bashed a Corona Concepts kitchen kit for the other pieces. The sink has been shortened so that the stove, sink, and fridge can all fit on the same wall.
  17. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

No room downstairs for the Christmas tree! The TV is a Dollar Store magnet. I added my niece's favorite scene from The Little Mermaid.
  18. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

The bed is from a Corona Concepts kit and the dressers are dollar store furniture. My mom made all the linens.
  19. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

The chair was one I had but the fabric was stained, so my mom reupholstered it. The blinds are made from a bamboo placemat. The player piano and coat tree are from my dollhouse as a kid. The hutch in the back is from Michaels, my mom painted and distressed it.
  20. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

The kitchen table, chairs, fridge, and cabinet pieces are from Corona Concept kits. We did lots of sanding and wood filling to make them turn out nice.
  21. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

My mom made the window boxes. Originally she was going to put them on the porch railing but decided to move them to the dormers where (we hope) they'll be less likely to get smashed and broken.
  22. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

One of the things on my mom's wish list when they picked out a house to build was for it to have a covered porch.
  23. From the album: Cassie dollhouse for Christmas

A wreath for Christmas! The house number is the same as the house my niece's family just moved into.
