  1. From the album: My Sherri Colvin Doll, and other Beauties

Isn't she gorgeous? Her hat and handbag are ready for her exit.

  2. Wednesday January 22nd 2014 Today I have a cold. I think my son brought it home from school. My head is congested, I can't sleep and I desperately want to get into the studio to create. I spent some time the other day setting things up. I have to take pictures and add them in tomorrow. I have a new table, a dedicated sewing area, a clay area work storage, a place to paint and sculpt and an area for the Orchid. If only it would warm up out, I could work in comfort in there. I'm thinking of getting a space heater to get me through the cold months. The new area is great, I
  3. From the album: Amylynn's Polymer Clay Food

This is a Boule or a peasant bread I made out of polymer clay.
  4. Kimba

    Grand Room Box

From the album: Some of my Work

I made the miniature bread out of polymer clay
  5. From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

Martin has just arrived at the old family cabin, located in the Northwest woods, that has been in his family for four generations. He and his siblings are trying to decide if they are going to keep it or sell it.

  6. From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

Martin called his sister again. It was too soon to consider selling the old cabin. Maybe they could get together a bunch of cousins and camp out here and fix the old place up again!

  7. From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

Startled, he jumped back, almost falling off the balcony. Was that his great-grandmother? It certainly looked like her, but that was impossible! This is my pièce de résistance. I've been trying for almost a year to figure a way to make a ghost appear and disappear. Finally figured out how to do it! But don't be scared - she's just great-grandma's spirit watching over the cabin. That is actually a photo of my great-grandmother, with some photo manipulation, of course.

    C - History

From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

His great-grandparents built it when they were young, and it was the Family Cabin for holidays and summers. It rang with love and laughter.

    G - So Quiet

From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

It was so peaceful out here. It felt good to be away from the city.

    E - Neglected

From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

Nature began to reclaim its own, and the basement door was almost hidden by bushes. Martin noticed the old wagon wheel, and remembered the family legend about his grandfather and uncle being stranded.

  11. From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

Then the Great Depression hit (Grandpa lost all his money), followed by WWII, and the cabin was used less and less. The kids grew up and started their own families. Finances were tight but Grandpa always kept the taxes paid.

  12. From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

This build is set in a cupboard, so the back and right sides are not visible. I added a back wall to the house, and the roof is removable for access and better visibility.

  13. From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

That was Grandma's old rocker. And an old newspaper on the seat!

    L - Memories

From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

Nostalgia swept over him as he contemplated the old stove, now stained with rust. Grandma cooking, Mother cooking, children running in for a quick snack …

  15. From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

He looked in again. His imagination must be running away with him! All seemed to be in order.

  16. From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

He finally peeked in the windows to see how things were inside.

  17. From the album: Spring Fling 2013 - Grandpa's Cabin in the Woods

Martin called his sister to let her know he had arrived okay.

  18. From the album: Scenes & Other Minis

Two photos here. I made a pair of miniature end tables, that can be placed beside eachother to make a sideboard. More info here; http://kyle-lefort.deviantart.com/art/Miniature-Stained-Glass-Side-Board-End-Tables-380980878

    09 Stairway

From the album: Micro Georgian Townhouse

After giving the stairways a base coat of white paint, I added the red "carpet" to the top side. Also painted the railings gold.

    4th Layer

From the album: Room Box for My Sister

The final layer is the rest of the original picture. I have made, and painted, wood framing to glue over the printed framing when this is in the last stages.

    Two Redheads

From the album: Room Box for My Sister

Both my sister and I have red hair, and we are about 12 years apart, so I bought these dolls to put in the roombox. The younger girl came with red hair, but the older one (bought 2 of each) was a blond. So I repainted the hair.

    3rd Layer

From the album: Room Box for My Sister

I then put a piece of foam core on top of the picture, painting the inside framing a dark brown so it wouldn't show white anywhere. I have hollowed out a couple of chanels and run electric wires through the top of the foamcore, leaving 2 LED lights to shine down into the "kitchen" ...

  25. From the album: Room Box for My Sister

This cabin came with a dividing wall, but since I was wiring it, I didn't want to use it. I added the fireplace, sink/stove cupboard, and a bed. I was aiming for a sofa but after I got it in there it looked too big - so it's a bed!
