Real Name

  1. From the album: My First Build: The Beacon Hill

This model has really sleek lines. I can see why other builders left off some of the included trim.
  2. From the album: My First Build: The Beacon Hill

I've got a roof and walls, so can I stop here and call it done?
  3. From the album: My First Build: The Beacon Hill

It's starting to look like a real house!
  4. From the album: My First Build: The Beacon Hill

Woo hoo! Stairs are stained and installed!

    More Progress!

    From the album: Beacon Hill

So as an avid Supernatural fan, I purchased the Funko Pop Dean, Castiel, and Sam a few weeks ago. They were so cute and tiny that it reawakened my miniatures bug! So here is Cas hanging out on the porch of the Beacon Hill that finally has windows and such! Only minor things left to do to the exterior!
  6. From the album: Beacon Hill Mark I and II

My original Beacon Hill from the 80s. Unfortunately it was in my parents' garage and subject to the heat, cold, moisture, etc. Now that I have my own home I can rebuild a new kit inside and not worry about the elements!

Progress! Wallpaper, ceiling paper, and look at that floor! :-)

  18. From the album: WyckedWood Beacon Hill~The Sea Hag~

Progress so far on kitchen window box, this is the largest of the ones I have left to do so I thought I would tackle it first. I have about 10 hours into it so far,but I do enjoy it, it feels like breathing life into it every time I add a leaf:-) The small bush I made this morning, is a white camellia from sdk, this is only half the bush, I'll put the rest in a different place on this box, maybe mix the white with another color.

When I was looking for a second chandelier (originally intended for the kitchen, but when it arrived it was larger than I thought it was) I had to be careful to somewhat match the one I already had in the dining area, these work well together because both of their lights are "inside" the crystals. This photo shows the way it casts its prisms on the ceiling and walls :-) Im in the process of making another french knot rug for the second floor landing.

I put in the overgrown vines that will b the roses for the kitchen window. Ive been looking fw to doing this window, its my favorite window of the house. I don't think I will use the ivy this time, because I don't want to cover the design on this window box and I also want to save what I have left of the ivy for the front of the house. I realize how unrealistic this is....with the large tree like vines in this box...but I think when I get to the stage of actually doing a landscaped base, I will make it look like the vines broke through the bottom of the box and will grow a little beneath it to

What saved my fingers from total destruction is this little item, a sanding stick. Click on the picture to make it larger to see the details. I wish I could remember where I got this. I'd like to get more sanding belts. It is a wonderful tool for sanding small pieces, of which the Beacon Hill is generously blessed.

I propped the front door pieces against the house this morning to see what it looked like and was surprised at the blank demi-lune. I found some wood adornments I'd bought some time ago. With a little stain, I think it looks great.

The chimney will be painted the same color as the siding on the house and then aged. Sophia and her husband (I really should give him a name) would not put up with cracked plaster showing the underlying bricks, so their handyman keeps it in good repair. I'm not sure how the handyman operates, but I used a wet fingertip to smooth the Spackle, fill in the openings between pieces, and round the edges.
