  1. Wow. This would fit right in on one of the "abandoned" youtube channels. Great job.
  2. It is a Mattel toy similar to the thingmaker, except it was a mini vacuum former. They had molds like cars and boats that you could form the plastic around. The old commercial - only about 30 seconds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCvgvWiZNe8
  3. I always wanted Mattel's Thingmaker/Creepy Crawlers and Vac u Form. By the time I got old enough to get one for myself, they were gone and we didn't have ebay, etc.
  4. There are two listings where the houses look very similar. Just out of curiousity, are they just different versions of the same kit? https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/atq/d/tacoma-vintage-victorian-style/7295993989.html https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/tag/d/seattle-large-wood-victorian-style/7297149404.html Thanks for being patient with me and my inexperience.
  5. Back in the dark ages I lived in a trailer that looked a lot like this. Ours was two shades of a pinkish color.
  6. Another interesting find in the Seattle area - Only $50 https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/bab/d/seattle-custom-built-wood-dollhouse/7298335835.html
  7. In this video, Chris Ramsey solves a puzzle that takes the form of a tiny village and a house. I thought you might enjoy it.
  8. This just showed up on my Craigslist search. I don't have the knowledge to know anything about it. If it is something someone wants it is a very good price. https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/for/d/renton-doll-house/7295740274.html
  9. A Brinca Dada Emerson. Watching to see how high it goes. It was less than half the price it is now. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NIB-Brinca-Dada-Emerson-toy-Dollhouse-4655/313460301399?hash=item48fbb09e57:g:BlwAAOSwappgU1bm
  10. Another house in Seattle area... I was intrigued by how deep the rooms are. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/tag/d/seattle-large-wood-victorian-style/7293083577.html
  11. Seattle area. This seems nice. The price? Does anyone recognize it? https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/clt/d/seattle-amazing-handcrafted-story/7294320593.html
  12. A book that no one has mentioned yet is The Art of the Miniature by Jane Freeman. It is the book that kept my interest in miniatures alive when I wasn't seeing much of anything. Granted I was traveling on business 100%, so my attention was elsewhere. It isn't a how-to book as much as an inspiration book. She is an artist more than a miniaturist. She did a series of dioramas/vignettes after being inspired by the TV show Beauty and the Beast. I love the pictures in the book and while she does take you through her process, it is not intended for the reader to re-create one of her scenes. Wha
  13. I just looked and it is back in stock. If I could justify it, it would be on its way to me.
  14. My experience with ModPodge is that it doesn't form a hard surface, it stays sticky. If you choose a polyurethane labeled "crystal clear", that will minimize yellowing. I prefer water based; you can also choose the sheen you want, gloss, etc. Avoid spar varnish. If you are seriously into a perfect finish, you can apply 3-4 light coats, then buff with a dremel or similar tool.
