  1. Thank you so much! I have been building mini furniture itemss for about a year so I think it gave me some practice. A little determination and imagination can go a long way.
  2. Hi Holly! Your welcoming reputation preceeds you. I'm glad you're okay. Our family is just outside of Dothan. My first build was the Sweetheart. I added photos to the gallery. My Newberg came in the mail yesterday!
  3. I kind of thought the same thing but the best part of dollhouses (at least in my opinion) is the creative liberties we can take. So, I like to pretend the bathroom is the only room that hasn't been updated
  4. Thank you. The paper is shimmery on the one side and I didn't like that for this room so I used the back side. Lots of polyurethane later and a floor it is.
  5. My first build was the Sweetheart by Dura-Craft. I modified it a little. I've ordered the Newberg for my next
  6. Thank you! We've been keeping a close eye on the storm too. I live in Washington State but my mother in law lives in Alabama. Hopefully Havanaholly is safe.
  7. Hi everyone! I've come across these forums a number of times looking for information or inspiration on Google. I finally got up the nerve to join and say hello. I've been building miniatures for a little over a year. It started when my youngest daughter asked for a dollhouse. I never had one as a child but always wanted one so my search began. At the time, I really couldn't afford anything and I hadn't realized how expensive new kits could run. She was only 5 and I also knew, she'd be like a bull in a china shop. I used a storage shelf that we already had and started converting

    Custom Shotgun House

I built this one room dollhouse/room box from scratch. It's inspired by the New Orleans Shotgun Houses. I generally work in 1:12 scale but wanted to build something that could be easily transported so I went with 1:24. The outside dimensions including the porch are: 12-3/8 inches long, 7-1/2 inches tall, 6 inches deep
