  1. Glad it worked out! Those directions sometimes look like hieroglyphics lol
  2. on page 19 of the instructions if you have them is the layout of the Main Gable front and it is a strange shape but somehow magically comes out when you put the pieces together ....if you dont have page 19 I'm happy to send it over
  3. its not for everyone, I understand that....diners were kept at alternating tables, servers wore masks - all the kitchen staff had masks....thankfully the County I live in has had very few cases in comparison to Northern California or Los Angeles.....hand sanitizer was at the entrance and no waiting inside for a table. I look forward to the day that most everyone can enjoy what I did today....
  4. today we actually dined inside of a restaurant for breakfast. It was AMAZING! I have missed being able to just that.
  5. Hi Carol, welcome to the forum...I've never built the Orchid, but have one in kit.....as you can see there's lots of great people and information here so anytime you're stumped you can always ask for help, someone here is bound to have the knowledge or advice you're looking for!
  6. Ooooo I suffer from that A LOT - so what I’ve started doing is writing down on a list what I’d like to do in each room - color schemes, wallpaper, types of furniture etc - If I have the furniture, paper, kits I gather them and place them in the room - helps me see how things fit and then I build floor by floor. This has helped my get through the paralysis and move forward - if it doesn’t work then I know I need to either replace the item or modify the plan... it’s kept me moving on my builds!
  7. I absolutely love your color combination, it's fresh and light looking ....seems like it should be near the coast somewhere. Great job on the sofa and the little pillows are adorable. Hope you'll continue to share you progress on your house!

@Mineejv thank you so much, give me a day or so to get into that space and take a close up of the shades.
  13. Well I hope they are both okay
  14. while so many of us have been at a "shelter in place" I finally had the courage and time to work on this kit from Houseworks....the lingerie drawers... I do need to make some adjustments as the drawers don't open correctly. I believe a little sanding will fix that issue.

thank you all for your encouragement...it has really been a journey with this house....since taking this picture I've added some personalization, but not yet filled the armoire. Just like a house in real life it sure does take time to find the perfect little items to place inside.
  16. Has anyone heard from Kelly @rodentraiser or Jeanne @Thimble Hall ? I hope they're both okay.
  17. wow Congratualtions! Welcome to the forum and I hope you'll share your progress from start to finish...its a great foundation!

it's been just over a year since I finished the exterior of this little home....life has taken its twists and turns and I've only recently started the interior decorating....I started with the kitchen, here's a few photos to share progress.

From the album: San Franciscan Interior

I made a huge faux pas, I made the loo the largest of the room in the San Franciscan....before proceeding I decided to switch the master with the bathroom....it required re-flooring the bathroom, removing the tile walls and wallpapering. The drapes which I made and stitched every little ring to the drapes and then hung them on the rod I made....to say I way annoyed was an understatement. In the end it was worth every sore fingertip...the master bedroom is elegant and airy yet welcoming. The Bespaq settee sits in front of the windows so the mistress can put on her shoes or read a chapter or two. The lingerie chest holds some of her beloved items....the bed, I soldered and painted and covered with linens from Wendy Dollhouse. The night stand, an HOM kit ....the armoire is painted and the door pulls are glass beads from my Mom's collection...she used these same beads in making each of us a beautiful Christmas stocking...the final touch, a June Clinkscales piece so that the mistress can step unto the bed when she's ready to retire for the evening. Some finishing touches are still needed, but I couldn't be more pleased with how she's coming along.
  22. Hi Cathy! Welcome to the forum.....I like to use satin paints as those with the gloss tend to have too much shine and doesn't hide those brush strokes. I go to Home Depot and get the sample size and they tint it in whatever color Id like. It's been the best solution for me. Hope you'll sure as you progress!
  23. Emily that house is just stunning!
  24. yay!!!!!! I didn't see the interview but I saw Memes about the interview and sometimes thats more entertaining lol.
