  1. Well here on the west coast, I am so NOT complaining about the windy weather we've been having because it was 9C (48F) last night when I went to bed...just wondering if this is the calm before the storm
  2. Cloudy again, 34 F (1 C) definite chance of blahhhh today
  3. It's snowing here right now and certainly has no signs of slowing down. In fact, a snowfall warning is predicted for the whole Okanagan valley. It's -7 right now (19 F) but at least that miserable 35 mph wind has gone....
  4. It has been a most enjoyable week. DH got back from Thunder Bay - where a work project took a week longer than anticipated. Sometimes I wonder if he's ever going to retire!! Anyways, as soon as he got back, we hooked up our trailer and spent five glorious days camping with family. Good food, good company and good weather! Celebrated my youngest daughter's 24th birthday yesterday. Where has the time gone? Have been playing (or trying to play) Super Nintendo with my four year old grandson I don't know what's more fun - playing these silly old games again or seeing how excited he gets every

    sort the rocks

I took out most of the brown rocks - they looked too much like sun flower seeds!

    Aster Cottage

Working on the fireplace! Prepare the facing, sort the rocks, affix the mantel and add the rocks....it appears there's a few spaces that need to be filled in!

these are a few of my favourite things...
  9. Hello everyone - it's good to be back again. It has been awhile since my last post but there sure has been a lot going on in my life lately. I have just returned from my honeymoon! Terry and I met almost two years ago and finally decided to marry! We had a lovely little garden wedding on May 25th with our children & families present, and then spent a few days enjoying ourselves in Washington, visiting places I had never seen before (including Hobby Lobby, where I bought the Orchid and a few other mini-goodies!) Over the next few months, we hope to sell our houses, find a little condo s

    Open for business!

Thank you! It was so much fun putting this one together - and even more fun getting all the goodies for the inside!

oh thank you both for such nice comments Shingling the front of the roof was a lot of work! As soon as I get my baseboards done, I'll load up my counter with my cakes and cookies and it will be finished! (I think!) hmm wonder if I bought enough cakes!
  13. It has been a sad and difficult week, to say the least. One year ago my beloved husband passed away from lung cancer, a week after his 60th birthday. There has not been a single day in the last year that I have not thought about him and our life together, and how much I still love and miss him. I am so grateful for the love and support of my children and family. I don't think I could have gone through this without their love. So please everyone look after yourselves and don't forget to tell the ones you love how much they mean to you.
  14. This colour looks white but it isn't - it's called "Vanilla Sugar"! When my Storybook Cottage gets here, I'll be turning it into a candy shop and painting it pink - they called that colour "Lips"!!! I want a job like that - naming paint colours!
  15. Thank you so much for your kind comments! I had so much fun putting it together - I still can't believe just how much work this teeny little house was!
