  1. Beautiful! I love the foundation and the leaded glass windows. :)
  2. What a great idea for framing a special picture. I'm totally stealing borrowing this idea for Christmas gifts. :D
  3. I don't know, on cold days I might like shag carpet at that scale. It must reach a few inches above the ankle, no?
  4. I'm kind of amazed at how often these Roper stoves and monitor-top refrigerators end up at the Goodwill. https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/76510588
  5. I'm finally back to minis! Working on a rehab of a RGT contemporary ranch that's been sitting, untouched, in my bedroom for over a year. Going for a mid-century modern vibe. We'll see how much time I'll actually get to work on it--it might be a loooooooong term project. :)

    Contemporary Ranch Rehab

I'm finally getting around to rehabbing this RGT Contemporary Ranch that's been sitting in my bedroom for the last....I don't even know how long. I'll be decorating around some Reac modern furniture--going for a mid-century modern look. Inspiration from my grandparent's house.
  7. Thanks you everyone. And thanks Jodi! I feel much more confident using a water solution knowing that the walls were primed.
  8. There are some interesting auctions on the Shopgoodwill website atm: Roper stove and monitor top fridge: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/53374065 Beacon Hill (pickup only, Sacaramento) https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/53566152 Westville: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/53639236
  9. I recently picked up a Contemporary Ranch at a great price (thanks Jodi!) and am planning on decorating it in midcentury modern style. My first step is to remove the wallpaper, but my usual method of spraying a water/vinegar mix seems likely to damage the mdf. Is my best bet to peel off the surface layer and use a thin layer of spackle to even out/add texture? Or is there another method I'm overlooking? Thanks!
  10. If you're in northeast Indiana, the Goodwill has an already-built but not decorated Duracraft Madison at $6.00 atm. It's one of my favorite houses.
  11. I like this design a lot. I can imagine bashing two together to make a butterfly roof, and decorating it mid-century Palm Springs style.
  12. I used a combo of wood glue and tacky glue to make my daughter's mdf dollhouse. It's gotten some hard use over the last year, and is still going strong. I had to glue some trim back on after one of the boys tripped over the house, but I've found dd sitting on top of the house several times with no resulting damage.
  13. The kids and I are working on a Shadybrook cabin, decorating it to look like the Ingalls' house in "Little House in the Big Woods." They are excited to get out the fimo and make the winter stores of foods as described in the book--pumpkins, onion braids, cheeses, peppers, sausages, etc. Yesterday I picked up a Fairfield kit for $25, and I have plans to finally start the little Hogwarts to go with our 2.5 inch HP figurines. I haven't told the kids about that yet--I'm afraid they will want to abandon the cabin so I will start Hogwarts. Frankly, I'm a bit tempted, but I've decided that
  14. Welcome to the forum! I have never electrified a house, so I am no help there, but there are lots of experts here who have done very nice electrical work. Try doing a search for lighting or wiring--there are lots of discussions about wiring, and some have links to tutorials.
