  1. Thanks everyone. I had forgotten to pick up a yard ornament so I borrowed the toys from my mini christmas tree. It reminds me of what my real yard looked like when the kids were little. Deb & Susanne I like your gardens. They give me great ideas for when I finish my house.
  2. Here's mine. I had alot of fun with this and I like how they're all different. They all look great.
  3. Hi Mela, I'm also new and building the Orchid. I can't wait to see how you are going to finish yours. I love your bears, they will look really cute in the Orchid! Allison
  4. Teresa, I've actually thought of both ideas. If I use gallery glass I'm going to have to wait until the end of the month to go shopping or do an internet order as I don't have a local hobby shop. Just Walmart and it's pretty skimpy on the hobby supplies. I will decide this weekend what I'm doing. If I do transparencies I'll be sure to post pictures. FOV, After I rescued my Orchid from the Garage, I did a google search and yours was one of the first sites I found for the Orchid. It was very inspiring to go ahead and finish mine. I especially like how you did a built in bed.
  5. Hi Pam I just disassembled my Orchid. The hot glue had melted the edges of most of the plastic windows and between that and the X-acto knife gone wild; the windows were pretty much ruined. I ended up using a blow dryer to soften the glue and they peeled right off. I haven’t decided what I’m going to use for new ones yet. I have both acetate and transparency film. I will probably be putting them together this weekend. Bitsy - How are your houses coming along? I would love to see some pictures. Allison
  6. Thanks everyone for the welcome. I'm not sure about how I'm going to decorate. There are so many posibilities! Right now I'm working on the color. I was wanting a really light green but couldn't find one I liked so I'm mixing my own. (using the acrylics from walmart) I'm kinda stuck on the windows too. I need to decide if I want to make them stained glass. I'll post pictures when I get a little farther on.
  7. Hi, I'm new here and just wanted to say Hi and that I've enjoyed looking at everyones pictures. It's wonderful inspiration to finish my Orchid. I've started a web page that will follow the construction. www.geocities.com/sarrkmmm/orchid This is actually a restart, I originally started about 9 years ago. But life, 3 kids, a husband and a job got in the way. The kids are older now and I have more time to put towards my hobbies. I'm looking forward to being part of this community and learning from all of you. Allison
