  1. Thinking of everyone in Ida’s path.
  2. Size 8 Pearl Cotton Thread Ball Available at Michael’s
  3. At craft stores such as Hobby Lobby they sell poster frames. I use the large plastic cover for my houses. I use a blade to cut to the size of the opening then I attach thin strips of sticky Velcro to attach to the house. The frame’s backer board is used as a work board to cover and protect my worktable.
  4. The Kensington Dollshouse Show will be online this year May, 14-20. I’ve had the privilege of twice attending the actual show so I highly recommend attending the online one. https://dollshouseshowcase.com/2021/02/09/kdf-summer-show-moves-online/
  5. Home Depot next to turpentine and solvents. Use outside and down wind. Wear rubber gloves.
  6. Take it outside and drizzle Xylene between the seams. Using a metal putty knife it will peel right off. Just wet with the Xylene and peel. I promise.
  7. After many experiences with lighting, now I only add one LED Ceiling “high hat” per room.
  8. Congratulations! Will be her best Christmas ever.
  9. Drama or not, I’m watching the entire series of 4 shows in order to support Miniaturists.
  10. It’s not 9:00 yet. How could you watch tonight’s show already?
  11. I was so excited to find one of these kits but my HL isn’t carrying them, yet. Not online either.
  12. Xylene with the proper precautions will remove it in an instant.
  13. A few weeks ago I thought I read a request for a Commercial Kitchen vendor. I was busy at the time and eventually forgot to reply to the post. Anyway, I’d like to respond now but I can’t locate the thread. So here it is: https://www.elfminiatures.co.uk/Commercial+Kitchens%2FCafes+PU1ETnhBVE02a25jdmRXWjBGMlk
  14. Boarder wallpaper paste in a tub from HD or Lowe’s.
  15. I’m always concerned about older kits. You never know what conditions they’ve been stored in. Damp basement, humid attic, behind a smokers sofa....
  16. Welcome. All of my exterior attempts have been short lived due to weather conditions. Even pressure treated wood has failed for me. I like the plexiglass idea. I would cover it with either premixed sanded grout if you want a stucco affect or the new “As Seen on TV” Flex Paste, which you could shape.
  17. I generally strip the entire house of windows, trim and wallpaper. Then I take the house outside, give it a good cleaning and spray paint the entire house with Kilz primer. A clean slate helps with my creativity. In my case, I’ve always purchased new windows And sometimes changed the openings so pulling the old ones off was not a problem.
  18. Nancy’s has been gone for about 7 years. The Toy Box in Cocoa Beach is a wonderful shop and is part of the cruise line favorites since it’s located in a tourist village located just a few miles from the port.
  19. Barbara Fales previous owner of The Dollhouse Corner in Delray Beach sadly passed away on Saturday. I don’t have any other details. It was before I became an active miniaturists that I would peruse her shop and marvel at all the miniature vignettes, dollhouses and other assorted items filling her glass display cases. Unfortunately, the Delray Beach location’s rent became outrageously expensive so she retired and closed the business about 10 ? years ago. I knew her from our mini group, Les Petits of South Florida in Boca Raton. She was one of the sweetest women I’ve ever met. Always a kind word about everyone. She is missed.
  20. I always loved Attending the real show but this is really quite convenient and saves you thousands in airfare. Although, we couldn’t even get into the country right now. Great idea! This is the best time to order the Real hand cut slate for your roof. I used to pay $200 for 1000 tiles, currently it’s about $150 for 1,000. http://www.miniaturebricks.com/roofing/slate
  21. I need to see a photo of the house. I personally cover all edges with channel trim. It give it a nice finished look.
  22. I’d use a tool like the one below to cut a slit into the center wall where the floor meets the wall and feed the wire through the slit. https://www.amazon.com/BD200MTB-2-5-Amp-Variable-Speed-Oscillating-Multi-Tool/dp/B005AZI12O
  23. Amazing house. I’ll find a great tapewire video for you.
