  1. Tink's Clock Apartment

    I've always wanted to do a Peter Pan inspired dollhouse/scene, but I guess I needed the right vessel.
    I found this clock on the side of the road, and as soon as I realized the back panel comes off very easily, I knew the inside would be perfect to do my own version of Tinkerbell's Clock apartment from the movie Hook

  4. Harry Potter House

    My wonderful bf found a dollhouse at Goodwill one day for $4.99. When i walked into the house that day after work, this beauty was waiting for me on the table. It's a tudor style, and I knew instantly it was going to be a Harry Potter-inspired house. I am in the process now of transforming it into a wizard shop, like one would find in Diagon Alley.

  11. Mice are Nice!

    So I've had this little red and white mouse for a couple years, and I thought he was cute. Then yesterday I bought the mouse with the glasses on clearance. They were both ornaments, but I think they are too cute to spend 11 months packed away in the basement, so I'm thinking of making a little house for them.

    After reading the book  Mixed-Media Dollhouses: Techniques and Ideas for Doll-size Assemblages  by Julie Molina and Tally Oliveau, I decided to try making some 'assemblage' dollhouses. These are more about theme and presentation, rather than functioning like an actual dh.

  13. Nightmare Before Christmas

    I've been wanting to do a Nightmare Before Christmas dh for a while, and I had some Halloween stuff in my stash that I was saving for it. I even had a little black and silver Christmas tree all set aside for it. But then the other week at Hobby Lobby, I bought a Funkin pumpkin for 90% off, and I decided that rather than do a whole dollhouse, maybe I should just do a diorama.

    This plain wooden nativity stable is being transformed into a typical New England junk shop- you know, the kind of places you find along the rural roads that have rusted signs, old Coke coolers and antique bottles to offer. the shop's owner is an old timer named Jud Crandall, who sits outside in his chair, watching the world go by.

    The humble little home of an English professor and his cat. . .

    The professor is not really the neatest fellow, so his home tends to get a little messy- with books piled around and his bed is almost always unmade.

    What can I say? He's much too literary to spend his precious time cleaning- he'd rather be composing poetry or brushing up on his Shakespeare. . .
