  1. Christine, I'm not all that far out, so no one has to worry. As a matter of fact, I'm closer to people here than I was in California living on a 75 acre horse boarding stable. Although my friends were living in the house next door and horse owners were there every day all day sometimes, the nearest neighbor then wasn't any closer than a mile away. My mom thinks I'm crazy, but she's only worried because she thinks she'll have to bail me out if things go south. She never worried about me during the Loma Prieta earthquake or when I was living in my truck. So you sound better than my mother. LOL F
  2. Well, I think first I need to determine where the leaks are. They could be from the windows, too. Personally, I'm all in favor of just putting a roof over the whole thing. I've lived in trailers almost as long as I've lived in Washington state and if there's one thing I've found out it's that trailers always leak. So putting a roof over the whole trailer seems to be the most permanent and easiest thing to do. The cover will make it a little darker inside, but it will also shade it from the sun in summer (a blessing for me since I hate the heat). And there are already so many windows that I don
  3. Wow! Thank you, everyone, for the response. I didn't know so many people had kept up on what I was doing. I guess the next time I complain that no one cares about me, Lisa will just have to smack me upside the head. Thank you! You guys are so awesome! (I'm starting to tear up here a little) Kathie, I don't know about winter. From what I understand, this winter up on the hill has been a winter no one has ever seen before. I don't remember if I mentioned that they got over 2 ft of snow up there (and my lot still has 3" of snow on it!). The biggest problem was finding someone who had 4WD
  4. As many of you know, I plan to move out onto my lot in June and was planning to live in my car while I saved to get electricity and a septic system on my lot. Well, with the snow up there hanging on and on, it's pretty obvious a faucet for water isn't going to be done this month either. So with a little extra time to save, I decided to see what was available in trailers and found one that I think will be perfect for me. I found a 30ft 5th wheeler that's in fairly good shape. It has some leaks (and of course it's raining today) and will need some of the inside wood replaced, but otherw
  5. Phoenix, Tuscon?Just no. Dry is one thing, scalding hot is something else. I'm too hot when the temp goes over 70. LOL
  6. I wondered if anyone would catch that! You get 22 Brownie points and a good karma. Oh, by the way, they're never on Craig's List, but PA also has a ton of nice houses when I see them on eBay.
  7. Keith, about 35+ years ago, there was a miniature shop in San Jose which was a part shop, part museum. For a fee, you could go along behind the shop and look at what I think were hundreds of room boxes set into the walls (two of which I know were Brooke Tucker room boxes). The big draw, though, was Phelan City. Phelan City was made up of tables and you could walk through (where the "streets" were) and look at all the businesses and residential houses. Sidewalks went around each table and it was just the most awesome thing to see. Nutshell News even mentioned Phelan City once and I know it was
  8. What IS it with Phoenix and the dollhouses there anyway? https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/art/d/mesa-vintage-rare-dollhouse-kits/6819931635.html https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/art/d/mesa-dollhouse-kits-duracraft-greenleaf/6817790393.html https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/tag/d/tucson-3-doll-houses-vintage-wood/6810635828.html https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/bab/d/mesa-kids-mountain-alpine-doll-house/6815585878.html In New York area: https://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/atq/d/brewster-antique-doll-house/6832526906.html
  9. It's a Montclair. I might think about getting it if I didn't have to dogsled over the mountains for it. I think Cle Elum is on the other side of the Cascade Mountains. And after my little adventure just trying to get up the road to my lot, I'm all about staying home and enjoying the snow by just watching it fall - not by driving in it.
  10. You're not enabling me to get this house are you? Because I've heard a lot of enabling in my time and this sure sounds like enabling. Paraphrase from a movie and I'll give brownie points to anyone who knows what movie it's from.
  11. Some good prices on Greenleaf kits if the shipping is low: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Greenleaf-The-Fairfield-Victorian-Dollhouse-Kit/392245735305?epid=2255327537&hash=item5b53aaef89:g:P6sAAOSwnDRccG5U:rk:6:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dated-1991-Greenleaf-The-Emerson-Row-Wooden-Dollhouse-Kit-8007-NEW-SEALED-USA/113665088389?hash=item1a76f79b85:g:FDoAAOSwMexcdH4v:rk:201:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-The-Canterbury-House-Wooden-Doll-House-Kit/123661381392?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20160323102634%26meid%3Dfe828ee0d54d42bdb428c1
  12. Not sure how you'd get to the front rooms: https://offerup.com/item/detail/630989903/ Granville: https://yakima.craigslist.org/art/d/cle-elum-handmade-dollhouse/6816009809.html
  13. Oh, that's a beautiful house! I think that's the one with the conservatory style windows on one side and two entrances in front (one for the help).
  14. Well, I tried to get up to my lot yesterday and didn't even make it to the top of the road. The roads are mostly clear. North Shore Rd, which goes the length of the Tahuya peninsula, has the Hood Canal on one side and the high hill on the other. The storms we had brought down a lot of trees on the hill side and when the plows came through, they just went around them, making North Shore a one lane road in many places. However, Canyon Rd, which cuts up through the hill to the top where my lot is, isn't clear at all. They've plowed it once, but that just made it one lane wide. Y
  15. Oh, I love the snow. It's snowing again now and we're supposed to get another couple of inches from this one. Then Monday/Tuesday is supposed to be the Big Kahuna. Models are looking a little shaky right now, but we could get rain, sleet, snow, or the REAL Snowmaggedon. Take your pick.
  16. WOOHOOHOO! We got us some SNOW! Lisa got 12 1/2 inches at her house. I think here in the city we got between 4 and 5 inches and most of the area around here got 7 to 8 inches. We have another storm coming in Monday/Tuesday that will bring us maybe another 12" and there is a possibility of another snowfall on Thursday. On Wednesday I had hoped to get up to my lot to see how much snow had fallen there. I don't think that's going to happen. But I did all my grocery shopping for the month last Wednesday and got the few items I forgot on Friday and was home well before the snow started fal
  17. No, I don't know anything about Battat and English dollhouses. I'm sorry everybody.
  18. You could bash the kit and add a different bay window say, from Houseworks or Timberbrook in place of the Rosedale one.
  19. You're welcome! I was considering getting it, but I really don't think I like it enough. Between that one and the Garfield, I like the Garfield more.
  20. Jeannine {{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Heigh ho, I was on Reddit for 3 whole weeks and got banned on a subreddit. So much for being in a place where I was "supported and could speak my mind". LOL I was spending way too much time there reading the posts, though, so I deactivated my account. I need to do something mini!
  21. For anyone who works in half scale, this could be sprayed with black paint and make a neat patio set: https://www.etsy.com/listing/492394535/dollhouse-miniature-12-scale-yellow?ref=shop_home_active_11
  22. That's an old Arrow house. There's one here for sale in this area on Craig's List. Arrow also made a house a lot of people mistake for the Harrison. https://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/clt/d/auburn-wooden-victorian-dollhouse/6794412584.html
  23. Good buy if you're in Illinois. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dollhouse/163493510123?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20160323102634%26meid%3Dccd2ee800c4b4f0bab0d3e6458c00780%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D333026578013%26itm%3D163493510123&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1
  24. They enclosed the back, too. Given the quality of the light fixtures and other things, I think that's probably a house worth the price.
