  1. I think I'm just going to do the Spring Fling this year. And by that time I should be closer to finishing the 19th annual Creatin' Contest.
  2. Wow, all of those posts in her blog are amazing examples. I wish she kept updating. Some of the pitcures of this house (http://www.historichomeinminiature.com/Tour.htm) look so realistic.
  3. Ditto; I browsed you Heritage album and it looks great! I love the bedroom and the colors you chose for the exterior.
  4. Since I received such positive feedback about my pencil tutorial, I was anxious to post another project. You can go to my blog: http://mariasminis.blogspot.com/, or upload the .pdf that I've attached to this post. To make the boxes: 1. Print out on thick brown paper (I use card stock). 2. Cut on the orange lines, and fold on the black lines. 3. Glue the tab to inside the box. 4. Fold both ends just like a regular box. Even if I seal the box completely, I still stuff it with tissue paper to give it some body. I also print out (on regular paper) some little shipping labels and a bar code to stick on the boxes. To make the packaging tape, I cut tiny strips of plain masking tape. Hope you all enjoy and have a wonderful end of 2012! Amazon Boxes Template.pdf
  5. I was fortuneate enough to receive some extra money for the holidays and will be spending it on a trip to Hobby Lobby. Hooray money!
  6. The little mailbox on the Glencroft one is cute.
  7. My mom's a quilter. She would just die (and then ask me to make her one) if she saw this.
  8. I finally made my first tutorial and wanted to share. It's a very simple project, but I wanted to keep it simple to start with before I may more. It's here on my blog: http://mariasminis.blogspot.com/2012/12/pencil-tutorial.html and I also attached a pdf version to this post. Pencil Tutorial Small.pdf
  9. Barbie needs a housekeeper...and a therapist.

Since this is supposed to be an old warehouse building, I free-hand painted a company sign on the outside brick and then aged it. I don't love the way the word "coal" came out, but I'm putting in on the back burner for now and hope it gets more aged as I work on the project. The sign reads: "Peabody & Sons Coal Company," named for my dog Peabody.

I wish :/ Nah, these pics are posted in real-time. I took a hiatus b/c of a move, job transfer, etc.

This came out so well! I want to live (not work) here.

I think I would wear that entire outfit in real life. This is such a great picture.

My ferret thinks that he's moving in after construction's finished.

Here is a close-up of the doorknob I made out of 20-gauge wire. I hammered holes into it using a needle tool to add a little character.

The trim for the door was initially laid over the brick, but it looked terrible so I carved space out of the brick and inlaid the trim. The trim for the windows is going to look almost the same.
  17. Love this! Where did you get the tiny hinges?
  18. Thank you so much for this! I've been scratching my head on where to find "glass" for my windows and this is perfect.
  19. No idea on either, but I want that bed for myself in real size!

    Merry Christmas!

The ribbon looks great. I never saw this gallery album before, and I must say that it's impressive.
  21. Are these 1:144 scale? Not sure what they are but they're really cute.
  22. Personally, I'm a little nuts with the spray sealer and end up sealing almost everything. With resin, I would suggest water-based paints (acryclics are good) because they give a nice finish without the messy clean up or price. I would also suggest priming first.
