1. That sounds great. You have seen alot of the beauty of the country.
2. Fantastic! I see you live in Alabama. I live in Alabama too. I live up in the Huntsville area. Beautiful up here as I moved here from South Florida. It remindes me of New England where I grew up. My husband is a real Alabama boy. I have obtained real southern recipes for him from women from the area and the south. I am a yankee girl who is a transplant. LOL. I only found one miniature shop in Alabama online located in the Mountain Brook area. I hate driving any distance - especially through Birmingham. But I bet it is very nice. Any doll house shows here in Alabama ever??
3. Just curious. Can I use wall paper paste from Lowes for a regular home wall paper project? Hobby Lobby and Michaels are almost nil in supplies. I hate to have to order online and pay shipping and have to wait the one to two weeks. Lowes is right down the street.
4. No mini stuff at Michaels - but things like glue, brushes, roller, and other tools.
5. Woah!!! Be careful with Mod Poge - it dries very quickly. Better have your roller, spatula, damp cloths right there where your hands are or you will miss out.
6. I dont have a cat, but I have a dog. Hobby Lobby was out of the mucilage by MiniGraphics. I will try my Mod Poge. I will let you know how it comes out. Thank you for the tip of spraying the flooring. By the way, I do not know if it is just this area, but I cleaned out THREE Hobby Lobbies and a Michaels of minitaure accessories I needed because the inventory for miniatures in this area is really SPARCE! Lots of other arts and crafts that are of no interest to me, but I have to buy most of my stuff online.
7. Thank you so much. So far, the Mucilage has worked out great. But now I ran out and the only thing Hobby Lobby had in the store was Mod Podge matte. It is a waterbase sealer, glue & finish. The clerk told me that it is comprable to Yes! paste. I will be using it tomorrow. I will keep you posted. I bought Super 77 by Scotch for the floor. It is a multi-purpose adhesive in a spray bottle. But I will keep your advice for rubber cement. The sheets of flooring do have sticky backings.
8. Oh thank you so much for your help. It is a satin finish. I am glad you mentioned it anyway as I did not know. Wow, I am so happy. Looking forward to posting pics in "My First Doll House". Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
9. I have received my 7 sheets of red oak hardwood flooring sheets in the mail. It is real wood. I need to stain and poly them. Can I use the same stain as I used on the front door of my real house that I bought from Home Depot? Can I also use the same poly that I used on my front door as well? Can I use those same products on the crown molding and the base board molding in my doll house as well?
10. Oh thank you all so much for the encouragement. This has been a though house to build. As long as I took my time and worked very carefully and read the instructions slowly and carefully, I was ok. I had a few near misses but fortunately I caught them in time. I cannot wait to post them. I hope I am allowed to insert my photoshop album into the thread so you all can see the various stages. I am so proud of myself for this project.
11. I was recommended when shopping on Motts website to buy (and I did) "Wallpaper Mucilage" for the wall paper paste. I was also recommended to buy (and I did) "Scotch Super 77" Multi Purpose Adhesive for the flooring (sheets of hardwood flooring). I have seen on the Real Good Toys site (where I bought my house, the "Victoria's Farmhouse", that they recommend "Yes". Now I am nervous about what I have purchased. When I get the wall paper and flooring and the lighting in, I will post my pictures of my house in the forum "My First Build". I am very excited about my first build and want to share. Thanks for your help.
12. Milled Plywood. I like the fact that it is made, designed, and manufactured here in the USA!! I do my best to patronize US products and merchandise.

I called RGT and asked the thickness of the plywood
13. I have just ordered my first house (RGT Farmhouse). I ordered the MP. However, because of all the warping problems people post, I called to cancel and reorder in the MDF. I dont know if that process went through as I have to call and find out. But I did not order from the RGT website as it was about $150 cheaper on another website called Hayneedle. They are like a competiter to Amazon. I hope it goes through. I just dont know what to order as so many veterans on Greenleaf have so many different opinions on MP verses MDF. I intend to electrify my house as well. I will need LOTS of help there. My husband will try to help as well.
14. I just ordered this house. It will be my first house in many years. I will be postiing lots of questions when i start. I still need everything. Wiring kit with instructions, paint, clamps, etc.

Wow!! The more I look at this amazing piece, the more I see. The grass in between the tile outside on the ground, the wimsy of the vine on the roof and balcony is wonderful. The one thing I did notice is your absolute precision of the SCALE of EVERYTHING. Looking at the flyers pasted on the sides of the bulding, the size of the leaves, the size of the brick blocks in the outsied of the house. It looks like real life scale!! That is something sometimes even the most advanced miniature builders dont master. And this is intricate detail. The bar inside, even the bar stool embossing on the tops are scaled correctly. I feel like I am in miniature living in their world. May I have a drink please Mr. Bar Tender??? :thumb:
16. I am looking forward to purchasing a new kit and making it beautiful. This community is wonderful. I love all the forums and all the information here. I am in Alabama. Does any one know of doll house shows either here or in Tennessee? I have not had luck finding any on the web. I am also trying to surf the Greenleaf community to see if anyone here has posted doll house shows in this area or in Tenn. Thanks so much!!!
