  1. From the album: 1/6 scale house design

Today I feel like a mad scientist, I am learning as I go here, but had some ideas on how to accomplish the peaked roof, But I am beginning to see how it should fit together, there are two tall peaks with each end room and 2 smaller dormers in the middle section, the exterior will have a ridge of some sort between the 2nd and 3rd floors I am planning some tall windows in the back center room and a terrace. one of the rooms upstairs may be an office, and another possibly a toys in the attic type room,

  3. From the album: Black Cat Landing - A Witch House

Flora is happy to be moved back into Black Cat Landing. I had to make a few minor repairs on the house that got damaged while being tossed around during the wildfire evacuation last September.. but she is all comfy cozy again and ready to make more potions and cookies. The gorgeous painting was made by Karin WyckedWood... Flora is glad I have it framed and hung for her.

  5. From the album: Japanese Inn and Spa Ryokan

Here are some of the accessories I have made from the kit. The sink is for the kitchen, and will go into the extension. I think it came out really cute. It has a brass faucet, and a little steel drainpipe. There are two more tansu chests with drawers and sliding doors. (Those sliding doors are always a pain)! There is a set of cubby holes for towels and things in the spa, that was quite fast to put together. Then there is a scale. The kit was designed to be a ryokan from the 1950's or early 60's, and the kit even has TV sets. I am making mine to be more reflective of early in t

  10. The boys and hubby left Vero Beach yesterday so I could give the cottage a good spring cleaning. No sense cleaning out the sand and have them bring it back in, so I kicked them out. I accidentally slept in so I'm a few hours behind. Still have one more bath to do and the floors and load up the car. I'll be home by 6, maybe.

  12. Yes if it comes to listing it for sale, it would be pick up only, I myself drove 7 hours one way for a dollhouse once, and also did the over the road and seas transport. It all boils down to the love of the particular structure [ and funds LOL! ]

  15. That reminds me of the time I first made coffee cake (streusel topping) Emily. Now that's more of a winter thing, but I made it in the summer for the family reunion at the beach. I made two of them, 13 x 9 cakes, and they were gone by the end of the week. Lots of breakfast and midnight snacking ensued. They're real butter bombs, but so tasty...Easy to make, too. The base is actually made from cake mix. Mmm. Meant to make one this winter but never got around to it.

  16. I'm a bridesmaid in a dear friend's wedding this summer, and this weekend she's having her bridal shower. The brunch is tomorrow, and I've volunteered to make most of the food, so I spent all day in the kitchen today. I made two quiches with pastry from scratch (a first for me), one lovely lorraine and one veg one with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes, a a bunch of sausage rolls, a delicious sauce for baked eggs with mushroom and spinach, a french toast casserole, 5 packages worth of bacon and a heap of latkes. The shower attendees (about 30 people) are mostly family -- hope they're hungry

  20. Yeah, it's so much more fun than buying them ready made! So far, these are part of the kit, but when I get to the end, I'll be making my own! I love the way you got so creative with your house, and made it truly your own!

  21. Thanks Karin, this is one of those once in a lifetime projects for me. Even when I was little, I remember I always had a globe out, and imagined I would travel to different places. I had a set of golden encyclopedias and atlases that I used to look the places up in, and learn about them. I had always planned on having a job that would take me around the world. Unfortunately, as soon as I graduated from high school, my parents decided I needed to be married and have kids. I graduated a year early because I was ahead in school, so I was a year younger than the other kids in my class. That made i

  31. It is called Magic Brik. It is a stencil/tape that you put on the house. Then I mix plaster, sand, glue and my paint color, spread it over the tape, then lift the tape. "Magic Bricks" ;-)
