  1. Once the house goes onto the board I hope to get DS to take photos for me, since he's not digitally impaired! (He did the photos of the 1:24 aubusson rug & dining chairs):

  7. From the album: Spinner's Cottage

The interior is pretty much complete. I still need to make a wooden bench the size of the blue plastic sofa. The sofa is there as a size placeholder basically. I enjoyed thatching the roof and hope to make more roofs thatched in furture.

  8. From the album: Spinner's Cottage

This little half scale house was a good one for me to learn how to plaster walls with spackle and create wood and stone floors with spackle. I liked experimenting and learning techniques on a smaller scale. This is my first half scale house.

  10. Still chillin' in the cool ac. I know it must be hot outside, but haven't left the house in a few days. You know it's still summertime when you step onto your front porch and the boards are so hot they burn your bare feet.

  11. Our high is in the 80s; I'm enjoying the wonderful breeze our ceiling fan is making. With the workshop windows open I have ben able to work on the farmhouse' landscaping board.

  13. We are in the low to mid 80s with no humidity. It is literally and figuratively a breath of fresh air. Oh, it feels great. We have a funny habit in our family that when it drops below 80 it's time to make a big pot of chili! Sable, be safe! My stepson and family live in Miami. I know just the prep work to preserve property and life is overwhelming.

  15. I had one of those "this never happens to me" days. We were out running errands and stopped in at the Good Will next door to the Harbor Freight (and their Sidewalk Sale). There on the shelf amongst the bric-a-brac and ladies' clothes was a box containing the Greenleaf Village for less than USD$5! As we passed through the checkout the sweet lady taking our money told me to "enjoy the puzzle"; oh, will I ever!
