  2. From the album: The Appleby Cottage

Slowly making progress on the micro Appleby, which is the dollhouse for the little girl in the big Appleby dollhouse. That stairway is a piece of a zip-tie / cable tie cut and painted, and the railing is a section of a false eyelash from the Dollar tree.

  4. What One Thing do you think is a total waste to spend money on? I have one friend who refuses to buy pictures for her house. She takes pictures and have them blown up and framed (Yeap she does that on her own too  ) I have another friend who won't buy make up (She uses samples only, I have NO idea where she get that many samples from). I personally refuse to buy sugar filled cereal. I just don't like it personally and I think it is too much sugar for kids. What about you. What thing do you refuse to buy? :o

  5. From the album: Misc minis

No, I will never give up on egg carton brickwork, but I tried an experiment to help a friend out with a brick floor project. We were thinking egg carton brick, but she has a Beacon Hill and three large floors to fill. Even with awesome results, cutting egg carton bricks is time consuming and daunting to say the least. Then the other day I was down a Pinterest rabbit hole, and I ran across an old entry from Tiny Handmade. The miniaturist had made a wood tile floor from popsicle sticks. I thought, what about skinny sticks? I cut 3/4" bricks making sure the rounded edge side was up and

  8. From the album: Micro-Minis

First I made a 3x5 inch glueing jig out of a picture frame. Then I gathered the basic tools and supplies I would need. The case has a nice wood divider at the back, which used to hold the rings, so an old doll box fits just right to keep all the tools in place.

  11. Can you take some of your 1:144 things to work on during the fairs, CJ? And think how much more interesting reading waits you if we just go on per normal! Anna & Tracy, I wish y'all well.

  12. Hope things go well CJ! Thanks Anna! We'll see how it goes today. Preplanning week is always busy, and we wont really slow down until September. I can always tell which schools prepare their teachers for the coming year by the calls. So I can appreciate your prep work! We have 52 schools in our district.

  16. From the album: 1/6 scale house design

I meant to post this shot with more baluster detail, its a view as if I am standing on the staircase landing! This middle section was intended to have faux block on the wall around the staircase, but it may end up with a deep rich wall paper instead. Bottom newel posts yet to be decided upon. I need to get to Home Depot for wood so I can cut the wider sheet of flooring for this room

  17. From the album: 1/6 scale house design

I got a lot done today, cutting sanding painting fitting and glueing, tonight or tomorrow will finish the window trim, cut the glass and grids, I decided after trying out this over door, I want something more massive over the door, it needs to come closer to the height of the window. I plan on using the piece cut for the doorway to make double opening doors

  18. Its a 12 x 18 ft room, this is where I had the JP Morgan 1/6 scale house, which was much bigger, so this house was designed not take up as much space.
