  3. My first day was cancelled due to staffing issues yesterday, so I started early this morning. It was a little different, watching planes taxi right up to the building I work in. I mostly dig through mountains of maintenance and parts records. It's almost as much auditing as it is data entry. I have so many different things to remember, it will take a while to get used to.

  4. Today it got up to the low 70s with some overcast late, so I know more WINTER is on its way, but we took The Kids into downtown Pensacola with us. The Wentworth Museum was closed for the holiday, but our favorite art gallery was open and featuring the work of a dozen of our local female artists. Afterwards we went over to Seville Square and had lunch, finished up with dessert for the menfolk at Pensacola Bay Brewery and came home. I painted a second coat on the bathroom baseboards and stained the livingroom and bedroom floors' Lynette, I used to make ornaments from papermache and Styrofo

  5. From the album: Xmas lantern

Made my own tree, was way easier than I thought it would be. I couldn't find the dry stuff that I've read people use, but I did find this plastic greenery at the craft store.

  7. I got my pine vise (ity drill) at sears hidden in the tool section. did I say one that I can only work on one thing at a time??????? oops. must have been smoking something HAHA I am working on another Tiffany. actually two, I started one and couldn't get the pieces to come off the sheet. Set it aside and opened another box. (did I mention I had three, don't ask why, because I have no clue). Anyway. Got the little one done so I can take it to Florida next week. Added some plastic furniture for the little girl since I had it laying around. (son-in-love's niece is getting it)

  11. Ok Now I understand how you did it, it looks great! Did you have to splice wires together since many fixtures don't have very long wires? I have never had luck with splicing. I have used the wire tape method before as well as hiding wires which is tricky to get them to the plug strip if they are short

  17. We're seeing the effects of "winter" (yeah, it's not a polar vortex to me, either - its WINTER!) here in the east slopes of the Cascade Mountains. High temps the rest of the week in the 20's, and I'm not even gonna discuss the overnight lows LOL. And - wait for it - snow starting Wednesday night and lasting into next week. Well, the temps are a little January-ish for us here, but snow, yeah, it's pretty much on time. But I did have to laugh at Koko this morning; he sat looking out the window for the longest time this morning, then sighed and used his catbox instead of going outdoors like he us

  18. Very nice! Thank you for explaining your process. I really appreciate it when people don't just post images expecting us to understand what they've done.

  24. Congratulations, Jeremy! After breakfast DH, The Kid & I are headed for NAS Pensacola and the Blue Angels' homecoming air show. It's an all-day event with shows in the afternoon and evening today. DS#2 and his wife are flying in to Ft Walton Beach this AM and stopping at the Crown Plaza downtown to register her for tomorrow's half-marathon race (run whilst all us OFs are still snug in our beds) tomorrow, then on to the air how where he thinks they'll get up with us otherwise we'll meet up at the house, get them unpacked and go out for supper.

  25. From the album: Trying new things

Sometimes you have to just get in there with a hammer and some paper and foam and ideas and house plans and dreams and smash it all together!!!! I am still playing with shapes...I just thought I would throw this on the pile..cause I need to start another unfinished project like I need a hole in my head...

  26. Today's interview went well despite several more interruptions. For the 2nd time in two months, the gas cap on my bike wouldn't unlock. I was already low on gas, so I rode home, poured a few drops of oil on my key and with a bit of force, was able to unlock it. Then, I got stuck behind a driver smoking weed on a two lane road with no passing zones. He was driving almost 20 miles an hour below the speed limit and drove through two traffic lights. The amount of smoke pouring out of the guy's windows was like something out of an old Cheech and Chong movie. I am so relieved the state didn't

  27. From the album: Georgian Music room Roombox

Many years ago my mother made this embroidery work. The pattern and colors are just perfect for my roomboxs' curtain I believe.
