  2. From the album: 1/2 scale Rosedale - Devonshire Hall

Anyone for tea? The board is just scrap which I painted. The cake stand is a purchased plate that I glued a goldtone beadcap to. The cake is made from polymer. The teapot is a silver charm I painted. The extra slice of cake is on a plate I made from polymer that I painted to sort of mimic the cake stand.... the dollop of ice cream is just paint with some sprinkles. For Mr. Wigglesworth... but I don't think he was happy.

  5. From the album: Walnut Bay Light - Creatin' Contest 2013

Walnut Bay Light was built in 1888 and serves as an automated aid to navigation to this day. The lighthouse and attached quarters are located offshore, accessible only by boat. The residence was last occupied in 1970, after which the light was automated. The structure fell into disrepair and was scheduled for decommissioning and dismantling in 2001. It was sold to the newly formed Walnut Bay Light Foundation for $1 with the stipulation that the tower and residence be restored and maintained. It is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is one of the few lighthouses of

  11. From the album: Walnut Bay Light - Creatin' Contest 2013

The big base started out as wood and now looks like weathered concrete with a nice coating of algae. The breaker railing and ladder are made from brass rod painted black and brown. The boat bumpers are made from a foam hair roller. The eyelets at the top of the ladder allow the chain to be removed for access to the breaker.

  12. I hope it's just a check-up at the vet, Roxy. Now that Walnut Bay Light has been submitted for the HBS contest (pics in my gallery), I'm taking a small break from it before attending to the details I didn't have time for before the deadline. I've got a fun Christmas scene in mind, so I'll be working on that for the next week.

So.... I have an ENORMOUS amount of junk/broken jewelery... I literally used to buy it by the pound on Ebay when I was making and selling doll clothes. Some of it make great embellishments on doll clothes. Anyhow... I was digging through my boxes of and found a few interesting pieces I think would work in the Jasmine. The red rhinestone circle used to be a clip on earring... it will soon become a fancy chandelier... the purple flower dangle earring will be disassembled and I am going to make a small pendant light which will hang in the tower of the Jasmine. The cameo I just think is cool a

  18. Thank you Kat, and so glad you enjoyed it! A lady at the mall on Saturday was asking me about the team, and what they were doing there. I did a little explaining on who they were, and about that time they had a musical break during Feliz Navidad, where they come down into the audience and shake hands, greet people, etc. Then she looked at me and said, "They just make people feel happy!" And I said, and THAT'S the reason they are here! This group and Lawson's involvement in it has been such a blessing, in so many ways. I am so thankful he became a part of it.

  20. Russian street corner ice cream vendors do a booming business in winter. Today I bought half a pecan pie. I only mention it because I like pecan pie, but since I'm the only one who does, I never make it or buy it. I just make those little tarts now and then. This was my first slice of pecan pie since 1971. Would have been better with more pecans and less goo. I'm also the only one who likes fruitcake, but I passed on ordering one this year. It's winter, I keep falling asleep, I've been eating lots of nuts, and I crave Stouffer's macaroni and cheese. The rest of the year I don

  30. Yum Jeremy! Yikes Claudia! Glad it is being worked out, but what a pain. I've had something similar happen, but on a smaller scale, and BoA took care of it quickly for us too. Selkie, hope you get your tree up! I got to stay home tonight. Yay me. 3 days straight of WAVE was tiring. Kat, I will post some videos of Lawson's performance in a bit.

  32. Morgan, I just made one of those Wilton GB Houses! They don't give you enough icing and candy in my opinion but it was fun to play with! I just got home from the dentist and for being a good girl I treated myself to building stuff for my Orchid. I am stocking up in supplies so when I want to start I have it all there and ready! Stacey I think you need a hug or chocolate or both!!! Be safe driving in the snow!!!

  34. Well, I had some excitement last night - the kind I could really do without! Checked the bank balance online before heading out to the grocery store, and found it was overdrawn and $277 worth of purchases had been made at an aquarium in Toronto Canada. (1) I live on the west coast of the U.S., not Canada (2) I've never been to Toronto, especially not last weekend (3) why in the world would I buy fish or fish supplies? (unless, of course, they were miniatures). Nothing like a good robbery to get the old adrenalin pumping!! :ninja:After about 15 rounds with the totally retarded Mr. Robo Man

  35. Thanks! I cheated on the roasted tomato Alfredo sauce- my wife bought two jars of the pre-made stuff. The alternative is to either buy roasted tomatoes and finely mince them or roast fresh tomatoes and just add them to the sauce. I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post a recipe, but here it is: 6-8 large cloves of garlic finely minced 1 lb. of scallops 1 lb. of shelled and de-veined shrimp 3 table spoons of olive oil 1/2 cup of white cooking wine 1 can of cream of mushroom soup 2 jars of Roasted tomato Alfredo sauce or 1/2 dozen tomatoes roasted, minced and
