  1. From the album: Jefferson

I crocheted the blanket and used a swiffer sheet for the bedding with some lace. I made the hat and the hat box was a printie. The dresser and the bed were both HOM kits. The picture is a copy of a painting by artist Alan Maley (my favorite) which I printed out. I made the book on the nightstand and crocheted the doily.

  3. From the album: Misc minis

Hooray! I've completed stitching for the Navajo rug! My total stitching time ended up being 189.5 hours. Whew! This was stitched on 32 ct Joblean in parchment. This project was based on a contemporary Navajo original weaving that Natalia Frank of Scarlet Sails Miniatures charted for me (image earlier in this album). I made some minor alterations to Natalia's chart for my final rug, including choosing my own coloration to go with the furnishings and décor I had in mind for its future home. Up next is binding and finishing, which should take a few more hours. I don't usually count f

  4. From the album: 1/2 Scale Craftsman Bungalow

In half scale I haven't found any craftsman style furniture pieces so I've decided to make my own. This is my first attempt at a piece of furniture. I made it out of pieces of cherry. The fabric that its sitting on is the fabric I'm going to use for the seat cushions.

  5. More great information! That "inside/outside" hinge style was what I saw on Christine's photo. I like the idea of it being disguised as well. I want to conceal it as much as possible. Depending on how the rooms fall in the house I may have to electrify the "opening" wall. I have instructions on how to do that while still hiding the wires and it was advised that the hinges have some type of sealant applied to them after installation (since you have to use them to help with the electricaL connection) so that they don't oxidizethe copper wire. I'm definately going to check out "La Mal's" hi

  9. The ellipticals have tv at my gym. Howev, my trainer gave me strict instructions for my time on the elliptical -- intervals of 4 mins at a good clip and 1 minute of flat out the bear's gaining on you speed -- so I doubt I'll be watching much tv for a while. Too busy just staying upright.

Made from solid Walnut I cut all the parts out from one piece of wood. Its not proportionate but doesn't look too bad.

  11. Caps are for the pronounced emphasis that I hear in their voices .... I've gotten all the usual "what are you going to DO with all that STUFF?" and "how can you spend that much money on THAT?" and "are you ever going to get rid of that STUFF?" And then from my grown kids - "what are WE going to DO with all that STUFF?" I tell them that, at least, it keeps me out of their hair !! I can foresee a large dumpster parked outside the house after I die and the thousands of dollars of wonderful valuable "STUFF" lying smashed in pieces waiting to be drug away. I try not to

  12. So You Want to Build a Dollhouse: Part 1 Selecting the Right Dollhouse for You It all starts out so innocently. You decide that you want to own a dollhouse, or gift a dollhouse to a special person, so you start looking around at dollhouses and discover that you have the choice of buying a pre-built house or making one yourself. For many people, the first reaction to that choice is "Oh, I could never build a house myself, so I'll just look at pre-built houses"……….and somewhere in the back of your mind, a small voice whispers, "You can build it yourself." As you continue looking at pre-buil
