  1. I love the colors. I would love to get a house that I could do a makeover on. It looks like so much fun to transform it into something great. Keep up the great work and keep the eye candy coming.
  2. Well what a wonderful friend you have. I know she gave it to the right person. You will do great things with it. I can't wait to see what you do. Happy Birthday to you also. Allison
  3. looks like you got a great deal. Can't wait to see what you do with it all. Allison
  4. Well it took me all week, but I finished shingling the roof of my QA. I really don't like doing shingles, but it makes the house look so good. I added some pictures to my gallery. One is a picture of the rooms with some furniture in it. My daughter was playing to see how the furniture would look. I'm off now to start the finishing work on the outside. Have a great day! Allison

    My Queen Anne

I hope to follow my building through pictures.
  6. Check out this house. It's a doll's eye tour of the Grosvenor Hall dollhouse. It's even a guided tour by the owner "Alice." It's really a beautiful house. I will have to add this to my list of "wants." Here is the link: http://www.dollshouse.com/dhe/dolls-house-tour.aspx
  7. I love that house. I wish I had seen it before my QA. I do love my QA, but the Glencliff is awesome. Maybe I can convince my DH to buy it for me. I also love the Grosvenor at DHE. Have you seen the doll's eye tour? I just did it and it is absolutely gorgeous. Check it out. Here it the link: http://www.dollshouse.com/dhe/dolls-house-tour.aspx Let me know if you can't get it.
  8. Wow. I can only hope my houses come out half as good as yours. I love what you have done.
  9. I added a few more pictures of my progress on the QA. I have the third floor walls up and most of the roof. I am waiting for the dormer to dry so that I can add it to the front. I should have the rest of the shell finished by tomorrow night. Can't wait to start on the rest of the finishing details (stairs, trim, windows, etc.) Still have to shingle though. Allison
  10. Tell me more about this auctionsniper. Is it trustworthy? How does it work? I always try to bid on things and at the last second get outbid. This sounds like something I want to try.
  11. Holly, thanks for the insight. I called the color I picked taupe, but the actual name is mink violet. Thanks for the heads up.
  12. Thanks for the information. My house walls are two different shades of yellow. The trim is going to be white. I'm sorry that I didn't make myself clear.
  13. When researching shingles, I have come accross "color washing" several times. I don't know what color washing is nor would I know where to begin. I think I like the sound of the idea. I'm having a great deal of trouble deciding what to do with my shingles. If anyone has used color washing on their DH please let me know what you think about it. Also, here is my scheme for my QA. The main part of the house is a pale yellow. The accent color is a paler yellow. The trim is going to be white. I was thinking of a pale taupe color for the roof. Please help me decide. Thanks, Allison
  14. It's time to think about the shingles for my QA. I have read about different techniques, but can't find any directions. Is there a way to paint or stain all of the shingls at one time or do I need to paint them one at time? Is it easier to put them on the house and then paint or stain? What have you guys done on your houses? Thanks
  15. Thanks so much for the encouragement. I am at a standstill. As I was working last night, I found that a piece was missing. I am waiting for RGT to send out another one. I will do other things while I wait. I do have a question: I want to decorate it in true Victorian. Where can I go to look for ideas on what was and was not used in this era.
