mesp2k
Thought I would start out small & find my way back into the zone... I was too lazy to draw the grilles on the side windows Here's a Sketchup drawing more or less: ...making a cardboard mock up right now....

rodentraiser
That's adorable. It's what I would have wanted, except I have to have one side open because of the fireplace. *sigh*
mesp2k
...why'd I make the windows soooo high? Maybe something like this? click
Debra from Olde Cape Cod
The high windows could be disguising a close neighbor or an unpleasant view....

mesp2k
...finally got my backordered 1/16" straight bit today! Now I have no excuse when it comes to finishing the bench & table! Oh...on a U-tube video about woodturning the expert suggested using a natural fiber brush to remove the fuzz & not to use sandpaper! I'll try this with all edges that need to be finished

I'll try this with all edges that need to be finished Why not use a scrap of folded brown paper grocery bag? That's what I use to finish turnings and it gives a perfectly smooth finish plus the wood glows.
CheckMouse
Love your ideas, Mike. This is going to be wonderful! The higher windows could be exposing the view of distant mountains, while hiding the clutter of the immediate neighborhood.
mesp2k
Got the benches & table cut out - sloooow goin' - YIKES!!! Lots of sanding & filing to follow...
havanaholly
I like the benches and table. I love to read at the table, so the window is a nice height for reading light.
