Libby
I am stuggling with moulding. Is there a trick to get it tight in the corners? I try to cut 45 degree angles but it still doesn't seem to match up. Thanks, Kim
jrchob
Hi Kim, Moulding can sure be frustrating. Are you using a miter box and saw? Are the corners basically coming together but not tight? Not quite sure what not matching up means. At www.miniatures.com there is a section on "How to trim" under "Questions". There are no pictures to go along, but the directions were clear. For crown moulding in the Gallery section in this forum under Members Pictures, there is a tutorial "Holly's Guide to Precision Cut Crown Moulding". Jeffrey
Invest in an EZ Cutter. You can get it at miniatures.com

judithfa
Also, a little filling in can be done with spackle. We all have had trouble with moulding at one time or another  . Moulding problems can bring grown men/women to tears!
Libby
Thank you everyone. I am going study these and see how it goes. I do have a EZ cutter. But I still have gaps in the corners. I'll keep trying.
havanaholly
I'm not that "Holly". I discovered spackling compound because wood putty just wasn't dealing with the gap in the molding satisfactorily.
grynche
I use filler in the corners in part because I'm cutting challenged, and in part because I don't think the corners are perfect 45 degrees to begin with. I am so not a purist. If it looks ok from a bit of a distance, it's good enough for me.
judithfa
and in part because I don't think the corners are perfect 45 degrees to begin with Yup, me too! -- Not in my real house and not in my dollhouses.
