Welcome to the Greenleaf Miniature Community! In this section you will find information on the benefits of joining our community and a walk though of the registration process.
We hope you enjoy your visit with us and decide to become a member! This forum will not be visible once you log in.
Mini chatter of all sorts takes place here. Have a question about tools or kitbashing? Got a tip for electrifying or interior decorating? Want to share pictures of the new bedroom set you just bought (or made)? It's all fair game in here!
Having a specific problem with a house? Someone who has worked on the same house might be able to help. Please mention the name of the house in the title of your post, so others who have built that house are sure to read it.
No matter how many houses we go on to build, that first one always holds a special place in our hearts. Do you have pictures to share or a story to tell about your first dollhouse? Here's the place!
(Please don't use this forum for building/decorating questions, even if you're working on your first dollhouse! Those types of posts should go in General Mini Talk or in Questions About A Particular House in the appropriate subforum. This category is *only* to share pictures and stories about your first dollhouse.)
Come see what our community has been up to... and join in yourself! Follow along from start to finish as other members from the community build your favorite houses or join in on our bi-monthly Mini-Swaps where members strut their mini stuff. Without a doubt, these areas are a great wealth of information for all skill levels!
Sales and promotional posts should be made here. (Miniature-related only, please!) This applies to retailers posting links to their websites, as well as to individuals selling dollhouses or other miniatures, either privately or on eBay. Trades for items or services can also be proposed here.
Hahahaha actually I'm not french. I live in Belgium where we have two parts, one part speaking dutch and one part speaking french, and I speak dutch... So the dictionary was actually a good idea 😉. But as far as my french knowledge goes, I do can tell you that it is du flambeau haha
Welcome to the forum, Sally! Thanks so much for sharing these details with us.
If it's the half scale version, you'll have to fight me for it!
The one in Nutshell News is half scale, but a few of our members have been lucky enough to score the LL in 1:12 scale. (Those might not have been built by Clell, but I think I remember the 1982 NN article mentioning that the house was available in both scales? I don't have it nearby to check.)
Half scale versions of the Joseph Angel house have popped up on eBay a couple of times and I sorely regret not bidding on them. They're definitely rare compared to the 1:12 houses, which are rare to begin with.
Clell “may” have sold houses in kit form if someone specifically asked for it that way. But it was very rare, he almost always fully built his houses out. As far as I can remember, he used wood glue and a pin nailer and never huge staples. His houses are known for being high quality, perfect in measurement and construction - he was an absolute perfectionist.
I may have the Lacamas Lake template in the top of his shop along with all the others templates he stowed up there about 20 years ago. If I find it, I will have our kids bring it down and see if it’s all there. It would be wonderful if we could find someone who could make a few more (I would also love a Lacamas Lake house, as we did not end up keeping any of the doll houses he built! And yes, I still find this unbelievable since he built hundreds over the years.
You know LL house is half inch scale right? After my last post, I went on eBay and found a Nutshell News July 1982 edition for $2 - it arrived yesterday.
