I've done them both ways - but I think the way you have them painted in the pink is just fine.

I think white would "jump out" and that it looks go as is

I cant believe this is your first house. You are doing a great job. the trim is suppose to be a continuation of the exterior. I love HJB houses.

The house is so bright and airy, and you made good use out of all the colors.

Since you asked, I think if all the 3rd story walls were painted a solid pink, the white trim would look best. However, since the back wall is papered in a print pattern, the trim looks best in the Cottage Rose, which compliments the paper. Besides it matches the side walls. - I therefore think the room is beautiful as is.
