The White Rose

Dalesq

I ended up cutting templates of the mansard roof sections. I then used these scrapbooking edge strips I found to create the "shingle" patterns for the roof. The edge strips were embossed, which gives the "shingles" more depth and interest. I briefly consider painting them copper (I love my copper roofs) but that wasn't right for this house.

Because the strips were different colors I spray painted them to get a consistent white. My experiments with trying to brush on the paint were a total fail.

After the paint coats were dry, I finished with a matte spray sealer.
