Mini Man

The Spring has arrived and my heart arbor potting bench has been well utilized all winter long. It was built from an arbor kit that came my way, all I had to add was a table top. The long tools are neatly corralled to a holder attatched to the potting bench.

Finally there is the beginnings of Spring and I do not have to depend solely on my weathered painting on an old bench seat to remind me of green hills and Spring! The passion flower vine has done so well over the winter that I think it will take up permenant residence and not go back onto the deck. The gloriosa lily vine has also flourished!! The pink camelia adds it's sweet scent to the sunroom. The Orchid has also loved the warmth over the past few snowy months.

The seedlings are being planted in flats now, there are so many seeds to choose from!!! The dirt tub set in the bench is full of nice fine rich starting soil. Soon there will be sedlings that will be able to be transplanted out in early June once our northern soil has finally warmed up.

My little parakeet "Belle" loves to perch atop the arbor when she is allowed out to stretch her wings. The lily and passion flower are nice and tropical just like her native land.

Magazines and a temperature zone map are all at close hand to help make decisions on which seeds to choose to plant. The fertilizer is all stocked up on and there are many pots close at hand to take the seedlings as transplants as they grow.

MMMMMmmmm the smell of warm dirt....the beginnings of plant life......all of it framed by a heart to give every plant who graces this potting bench a good dose of love to grow well. This is Spring, this is the season of LOVE!

How totally cool! I love the details you've included. It makes me want to grab a bag of potting soil and sink my hands in up to the elbows. Beautiful!
