Swedish stove from scratch. First step-the builiding.

Alexander

I am totally conviced that Emily depsite her "promise" after all my troubles she is not going to send me the Swedish tile stove so I decided to make one. The first one I've made I didnt like it (it was too small so I gave it to a friend of mine.). For this one I used stiff hard paper and jopsticks. I must wait for the glue to dry in order to put a white layer of paint. I dont have the suitable equipment and the materials I need... I had to compromise with what I have already in my house... I am not so skillful like Emily but I think that te final result will be convincing...

Wow, you are a very fast worker - and you look skillful enough to me. I love the little legs you put on the stove.

I think you are off to a amazing start. Although you have had this difficulty you might just find a new skill in these trials ;)

I am not sure how ornate you are trying to go on this stove, I know the more decorative versions have metal work some are smooth. But I want to give you this info incase you decide on doing more detail..

If you are going for this look: http://www.lindholm-kakelugnar.com/grafik/gemensam/referenser/big_ref_01.jpg

Consider getting come jewelry findings from the craft store and placing them about before you do a paint and seal: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XOG6e3X3PRg/T-oltNk591I/AAAAAAAAFOs/FPedQVRZjjs/s1600/stampingcompany4.jpg

You will be amazed at the detail you can get with little filigree plates and junk jewelry ;)

Great luck to you!

Coming along nicely. I'm sure it is going to be just perfect when you are all done. Even better because you will know you accomplished something wonderful.
