exterior window

WyckedWood

Still working on this...window framing inspired by some cottages I used to see at work when I worked at a dh shop, done by Don Silva. Just trying to jazz up the kit windows a bit. This is still rough, but Im stopping work for awhile so wanted to share. The flowers are just place holders so you can tell where the window box is.

You may have already said this and I missed it, but what are you using for the old beams? Is it wood or plaster/spackle or are you using a mold of some sort?

Looks great.

The hard part of using it (besides how delicate it can be) is getting it to take the color the way you want it to, Im still figuring that part out.

I wonder if you used that real life wood product that you pretreat wood with before using stain might help? I've used this pre-stain conditioner before staining my RL doors and woodwork. It helped a lot to even out the stain coverage. One small can would last forever as it's quite watery and goes a long way.

Just thinking .... some of the stain's unevenness just might be part of the character of the look you are going for.

I like the uneven stain and assumed it was intentional. I really like what your are doing with this house, and I like that floor!
