I ended up painting my future kitchen ceiling with metallic copper acrylic paint. Initially I was going to keep the tin ceiling white but went back to my original plan. It turned out quite nice. In the background are 2 books that I use for reference on Victorian design.

There are all sorts of resources online too. Also check out the Victorian Trading Company. They offer real life Victorian items but their catalog is full of ideas that can be used for ideas in miniature! It is really fun investigating the history in the Victorian era!
