Angel 2011
One of the sheltered workshops in Marshall, Mo, turned out angels made of plywood that are lighted from behind with a string of white Christmas tree lights. A friend gave one to us for our house in New Orleans, but before she could be mounted, Katrina chased us to Marshall, where she sat in the basement for a few years. One day it occurred to me that she'd be happier flying in color. Using Freda Kahlo as inspiration, I painted her with acrylics and puff paint and added some diamond dust (clear glitter). She now hangs on the screened porch during the summer. She is about 4 feet high.
