The White Rose

Dalesq

It's hard to see in this shot, but I used a piece of bamboo skewer to delineate between the first and second floor wallpapers on the staircase wall. This is one of the little challenges of the staircase in the Rosedale, and I forgot to install a trim piece here before putting the house together so I had a small gap between the papers that ran horizontal to the floor along this wall. I painted the skewer to match the bannister and managed to get it properly positioned and glued. Then when I started installing the baseboard in this room, it seemed to need baseboard along here too. I went back and forth, but finally decided to add this section of baseboard, and I'm happy with the result. (Yes, there is baseboard on that tiny section of wall by the ladder.) oops, ladder tilted! :)

Amazing ladder! Like the wallpaper pattern too! On ebay you can find some relatively speaking cheap Bespaq items. I got three exquisite pieces! (the Chippendale sofa and armchair for my Georgian music room & the side table for my Biedermeier parlor).

I kept buying these ladders whenever I found them at a low price. I have four now  I'm kind of fascinated with them. But my rationale for buying them is that I like to build cottages, which need ladders sometimes :)
