This is a great inspiration house! The mansard roof is similar to the Rosedale's. I use 1:12 trim a lot for half scale... basically I just poke around the trim bin at Dollhouses Trains and More and pick out whatever I want with no regard for what the trim is "supposed to be". I'm using 1:12 scale window/door casing from Northeastern Lumber for baseboards in my Rowhouse and when I ran out I had a hard time finding it again because I didn't remember what the trim actually *was*...

Thanks Emily Yes, I'm doing the same thing. I found a 1:12 chair rail that I'm using for baseboards in the White Rose, and I got a 1:12 scale dental crown molding that I'll use on the exterior. I'm planning to copy the roof shingle pattern from the Sherman house, but think 1:24 scale will be too big and maybe 1:48 scale will work, or I'll make it with pinking shears and deco edged scissors. Like you I adapt a lot of things to the different scales. If it is aesthetically pleasing, it works for me whatever the scale designation.
