Garfield Tin Ceiling

Creamcheese

This is a photo of what will be the kitchen ceiling. I used one of those tin ceiling vinyl sheets (small circles) and glued it on. I had to make sure that the wall opening where the kitchen bay will be installed was large enough to accept this floor/ceiling with the vinyl tin ceiling first. I did have to cut and sand a bit more to have an easy and smooth fit. It's a lot easier to do special ceiling and wallpaper when the walls and floors are flat! I plan on doing that for each room but it takes a lot of planning and knowing where each room and floor begins and ends. If you look closely you will see a small sample of a piece of the tin ceiling that I painted with metallic copper paint. It looks lovely but it will be way too dark so I am sticking with keeping the kitchen ceiling a bright white. Victorians often had white tin ceilings in their kitchens and baths.

Yesterday I ended up painting this white tin kitchen ceiling with metallic copper acrylic paint. I changed my mind in that I decided to go bold and not stick with white in the kitchen! It looks quite striking so I'll have to add an LED battery operated light somewhere in the kitchen someday! Have to take some more photos soon.
