Last fall I decided to try sculpting miniature candles out of polymer clay for a 1:12 Thanksgiving scene.
Real candles are cool too, but I noticed that over time they sort of melt and deform on their own, which isn't good if you really want them to look exactly how you made them. With a mix of opaque and translucent white polymer clay, twisted into spirals, I manged to make these look very detailed, given their sizes. I only needed 3 or 4 for my project, but once I figured out the technique, I kept making more.
Each one of these is an original sculpture, candles at varying stages of use. No two are exactly same.
I have been debting over what to do with them, but I eventually decided to post them as a OOAK set in my Etsy shop; https://www.etsy.com/listing/129816201/15-miniature-hand-sculpted-polymer-clay?ref=shop_home_active
