Colonial with Painted Shingles

Gonzo

After two failed attempts at a wash on the shingles, I opted to paint them. Unfortunately, since my original plan did not call for black shingles, I did not paint the underlying roof black. You can't really see with the naked eye, but taking a flash photo helps you see where to do the touch ups. I am going to put the cap on and then do a little contrasting texturing to the roof.

It felt good to get something done today.

I love the bright door and the contrast it brings.

That flash and the close-up photography we do really brings out the flaws that we cant see with the naked eye, or seem too small to be concerned about. Its a great tool for fixing up the tiny details.

Your house looks very nice.
