arranging floor tiles (with help)
Im following the directions in one of my favorite mini books, Making Dolls House Interiors in 1/12 scale by Carol and Nigel Lodder, for making these paperclay tiles. They use them on a tudor wall, but Im using them for the floor. So, according to the instructions..I rolled out the clay to 1/8 in. thickness then let dry overnight...its really easy to cut when its at the leather hard stage, not 100% dry...just using scissors. My 9yr old son is arranging the tiles on the template like a puzzle, he thought that was pretty fun Next Im going to pick up each piece and sand the edges so they are slightly rounded. Eventually I'll paint and seal them and glue them down directly to the floor.
If all goes well...
Im thinking to use a lightweight spackle for grout...if anyone has a better idea or can give me a reason that might not be the best product to use..plz let me know. I want the floor to be a light and soft buttery yellow.
