kitchen

WyckedWood

This is the kitchen area, its 17" deep (not including the half timbered wall on the left which is actually an exterior wall) 15 " wide, with 12" high ceilings. The wall on the right has the fireplace opening the 2nd exterior door. The back wall has the faux stairwell and the window that's next to the front door. This room opens to the living room with no doorway, just an entrance that goes to the left of the half timbered wall. Don't have a lot of ideas yet for floors, ceilings or wall treatments, for now Im just trying to concentrate on the exterior....but, I think I would like a slate looking floor...either that or one inch square terra cotta type tiles in this room. Any ideas, suggestions or thoughts are more than welcome...I suppose I should have some sort of shelf along the top of the wall, maybe an inch or so down from the ceiling. Ive been working on the faux stairs,I made them with builders foam covered in paperclay. These are one of two sets of faux stairwells that partially show in the house.
