torches

WyckedWood

I raided one of our big warehouse party planning stores and found some items...birthday candle holders, white plastic wedding bells, and bead findings...that Im hoping to be able to make into (non electric) candle torches for indoor and outdoor use. I spray painted them all with (first white primer) then a textured charcoal color with an outdoor spray paint. The little bells were .7 cents ea. and the packs of candle holders were .45 ea. (I bought 4 packs) so if this works the way I have pictured in my mind it will be a pretty thrifty way to add the candlelights that I want.

This is so funny! I just went thru a "junk" drawer today (have Spring cleaning fever) and found an old package of small birthday candle holders. Decided to cut the bottom off and paint the bowl part - going to make a flower arrangement in it or make a fruit bowl with it. Great idea for the torch holders!

Well great mini minds think alike LOL :) When I got the idea to try birthday candleholders I wasn't sure if they even made these anymore, so I was happy to find them. Of course theres always ebay...but glad I didn't have to resort to that.

The holders I have are practically antique - they were from when my kids were little - they are in their 40's now! Unreal! :) I am such a pack rat!
