Three Gentleman in the Chester England area designed and built this one over a period of almost 5 years. Its amazing but not my #1 favorite if you can believe that. Quote Link to comment

If so, I am going to my first meeting next month and so will try to find out! Quote Link to comment

claireliontamer 105 Posted January 27, 2016 You probably saw this at the time but here's an article in the local paper about them....http://www.chesterstandard.co.uk/news/119150/inside-the-amazing-model-inn-that-took-years-to-build.aspx Hawarden is just down the road from me. It's so weird seeing it on here, I searched the site for Tudor chimneys to help me with my project and your photo album popped up. I immediately recognised the house as it was so amazing to see in the cathedral at the time. I'm glad it found a great home The houses in Chester it is based on are equally stunning. Debora59 2,608 Posted January 27, 2016 Yes but thank you for reminding me, its fun to read it again. Those guys did tons of research and an amazing job, I've never seen anything of equal on all levels.. Quote Link to comment

Sometimes I think the Tudor Inn belongs there, but the guys listed it for sale and hindsight is better than forsight. interestingly I have ancestors at least 5 or 6 generations back that lived in Cheshire county in the little village of Puddington England near the Welsh border, And then others from Salsibury. I would REALLY like to visit someday. Quote Link to comment

You definitely need to visit someday! Quote Link to comment
Debora59 2,608 Posted January 27, 2016 I tried to pull up ancestry.com to find the name of the ancestor, I couldnt get in and I cant remember if it was on my Great Great Grandfather Frank Macks side, but I will keep trying to log in and find out. Who knows maybe the name will be familiar to you, how long have you there? Quote Link to comment
claireliontamer 105 Posted January 27, 2016 I'm not from here originally, moved over a few years ago. I'm originally from the other side of Northern England - Yorkshire. I studied over here, went back to Yorkshire for a while and then came back here as my daughter's grandparents on her father's side live over here. They've been here for generations though so they may know the name better than me. Quote Link to comment

Macks married Browns so the family name was then William Brown 1658 to 1746 born in Puddington Son of Richard Browne who died in Puddington 1662 This line goes farther back to Sir Anthony Browne Sr and Ann Neville 1500s Lots of fun to research lines Quote Link to comment
claireliontamer 105 Posted January 27, 2016 Oh yes, I've had great fun researching my own ancestry. Nothing as exciting as that though, all my ancestors were peasant farmers in rural Yorkshire. Brown is a very common name round these parts, I teach in a local high school and we have a lot of Brown children. Browne with the e' is less common, haven't come across any of those. Debora59 2,608 Posted January 27, 2016 Yorkshire is great too. Every night before bed I watch '' Escape to the Country'' Am pretty sure its a BBC show, And every morning Castles, Manor Houses and other European architecture, on Pinterest, but I cannot get enough of Britain. The Brownes become the Viscounts of Montegue. Still reading about the history. Quote Link to comment
